I think I'll pass, thank you very much

Ask Bryan Kohberger what he thinks about phone tracking…..and he is a phd student in criminology

OH speaking of EZPASS. Last month I had $25 in the account. Then in 1 day it went to 4. Son has no tolls in AZ, same with daughter in Tampa. I called, oh they have no idea where the money went. This is the third farking time it has happened.
EZPASS is a farking scam. I canceled the account, thru transponder in trash.
It’s a scam. Now, they can send me a bill with picture of car, plate, date, time. No more auto pay. Beware, pay attention to your monthly statement, they are ripping people off, and it’s not the government, EZPASS is a private company out of Seattle that the states contract thru.
PA just got busted for charging EZ Pass holders an extra fee every month.

Additionally, last year my son called me. Now follow along here...lol. My friend bought our old house back around 1998. My son married their daughter a few years ago. They get a letter in the mail from Maryland EZ Pass with a pic of a Honda Pilot and a bill for $6 in fees that I owe. I have never owned a Honda Pilot or the plate in the pic. Called them and asked them if the car came back to me. They said they did not have the ability to run plates. So I asked how they determined that was my vehicle. They filed a 'claim' or whatever and said they would take care of it. A year later I get another letter now with a fee of $30 for penalties. I call again and asked again about ownership. He said sure, I'll run it now. I asked if he had the ability to run it and he said he did. So I told him about the last person I spoke to that said they didn't have that ability. He laughed. Supposedly it is all closed now.

What wasn't lost on me is how they associated my name to an address that I left over 20 years ago, before EZ Pass even existed???

I’m sure this is subject to abuse. But I can see it being very helpful to keep tabs on a family member that’s starting to have cognitive issues.
We're already doing that with my father on his phone at his request, which is odd, seeing as he's very anti-everything. You know the type... He's in his late 80's, still driving (quite well, I might add), but is concerned, if something were to happen, that we could easily find him.

Yeah, I track my father in law at his wife’s request. But he doesn’t always have his phone so it’s a gap in tracking ability.

Don't forget about the technology in newer cars! I have apps for my cars that tell me exactly where the cars are at any time. I'm sure that info is available to a lot of other people, ie: manufacturer, dealership, etc.

That's been going on for a lot longer than most people realize.

I read the App Store reviews for the Reviver app that goes with these new plates. Apparently the company that makes them has not quite figured out this whole software thing. I too shall pass.

Why would anyone need more than $600?

I had a customer pay me for his barn in cash. Depositing $38,000 in cash required all kinds of paperwork. I even had to submit the order for materials and the plans for the building. Just to prove that the money came from who I said it did and it was for what I said it was.

I'm so glad the market and Covid killed that business.

That is pathetic. The banks should have no right to ask for that crap.

It all starts out innocently enough. It was established to help pinpoint any illegal money laundering schemes, but, like so many things that start out for good, it's been twisted to allow the gummit to see deeper into our personal finances. 'Gotta get those tax dollars one way or another...
