If you had to rank your boat upgrades - what would be your top two or three???

New cockpit Fridge
Fake teak flooring in cabin.
Bluetooth adapter for the existing Clarion sound system.

1. New on board hot tub
2. 55 inch flat screen
3. Helicopter landing pad
4. New "Alexa" controlled stereo system
5. 400 watt power amp
6. New paddles, so I can always get her home.

OK, that's six. So the first three don't count.

1. Better and more cup-holders (my vintage 330DA issue)
2. Radar
3. 150ft of chain anchor rode.
4. Inverter
5. Nova Kool refrigerator (larger, quieter, less power consumption)

Oops, that's more than 2 or 3. Take your pick of two to ignore.

Where'd you get the custom mattress?
It was a local mattress company, they came out and measured and installed the new mattress and took my old one away for me. They make a lot of mattresses for boats. Ours is 8" thick and we had a 2" memory foam that we put on top, it's like sleeping on a cloud compared to the old mattress.

Got mine April 2016. My favorites so far are.
1. 32" flat screen in the master
2. All lights led
3. Green Oceanled underwater lights
4. Infinity btt#2 cockpit carpet (installed today, have only seen in pics from a dock neighbor)
5. Seaview tv antenna
6. Stainless sink and new faucet in cockpit
7. Stainless cup holders
8. Still working on the homemade davits for the Whaler.
Next year will probably be the expensive one with complete electronics upgrade, stereo included.
Awesome thread by the way.

After some thought, I think my favorite upgrade was a larger anchor and a new rode with 30' of chain and length markers. Peace of mind is priceless.

1. 480 HP 6.7 Cummins QSC diesels
2. New Garmin electronics

getting rid of the old 1974 188 mercruiser motor and outdrive,, installing a 2001 yamaha 200hp ox66 , 178hrs orginal,,, pics to come soon, (of course ,, i custom built a bracket for it , since i do boat repair and restoration for a living), just got the boat ,, 3 rd owner nearly all orginal , never in saltwater , true barnfind, 1974 22srv overnighter

1) New Electronics (Bluetooth receiver, speakers, dash gauges including GPS speedometer, switches and every wire connected to them)
2) Vented cockpit canvas

Next on list when I have the boat bucks (wishful thinking)
1) Replace the two pieces of marine ply flooring with HDPE w/ access floor hatches
2) Replace the teal glued down carpet with EVA
3) Trim tabs
4) Tandem axle trailer with brakes

New water heater . Original was removed and never replaced . Best spent 350 bucks other than that regular maintenance items like all new cooling hoses exhaust tubes and butterfly valves.first year for this boat with us so all the money is going into the previous owners deferred maintenance and my piece of mind

Nice - I nearly forgot about this thread!!!

I've been going through some upgrades on a new to me boat since starting this thread but I'd currently say my # 1 upgrade since owning a cruiser style boat has been a dinghy. It's hard to beat the utility and usefulness.

I have to revise my earlier list - now it's the Watermaker!

Long hot showers every morning in the Bahamas took cruising enjoyment up a couple of notches.

1. Removing all carpet and replacing with vinyl flooring (plank flooring inside, rolled vinyl outside and staterooms) - carpet does not belong on a boat!

2. Moving galley sink drain from shower sump to direct overboard.

3. Adding 120v outlets where there should have been some all along.

4. Adding full coverage galley undercabinet lighting. Factory install was just one wimpy light over stove.

Still to come:
Engine room camera
USB ports to compliment 12v recepticles

- Hybrid camper top. More shade, more seating without the squared-off look and acres of strata
- Straps for the canvas: instead of dragging big canvas/eisin panels with spiders an bird poop into the cabin only to be sat on an smashed, it just rolls up safely out of the way. $3 in straps and snaps. What took me so long!?!?
