Hi,

Was just hoping for advice on what RPMs are safe to run on my tender. It's a Caribe DL11 with a 2009 40hp Mercury 3 cylinder EFI. For a run yesterday, the most comfortable cruise was 26MPH at 5,000RPM but I wasn't sure if those RPMs were safe for longer runs? The tender's probably a bit underpropped as it shoots straight past the 6,000rpm rated WOT if floored - it may have been set up that way for towing tubes etc by the PO.

Any thoughts?

Paul

I have a 2005 version of the same motor and wouldn't worry to much about running it at 5000 rpm. However, it's definitely not propped correctly so I would highly recommend stepping up the pitch to get the WOT down to 6k and then your cruise RPM would be reduced. I cruise mine at about 4000 to 4500 which gives me a 20 to 25 mph speed. Mark
