The threads for some titles such as 400 db or cat 3116/3126 go on ane on and are hard to follow and even harder to search. Seperate sections and advance search by section would be wonderful!

Wahhh!
Don’t ruin a good thing. Do some reading. It’s fundamental.

the built in search engine on the forum may be weak, but google is your friend.

In the search window type:

clubsearay.com: "search terms"
Where "search terms" is what you're looking for

example:
clubsearay.com: generator n2k

Don't forget the site command.

Ie: site:clubsearay.com {search terms}

I think I can see the advantage of the OP's suggestion. It'd be nice to go into the 420/44 sub-forum and look through the titles to see if something is relevant to me or not.

I often use the site:clubsearay.com "Search for this" google command however how can I limit it to just the 420 thread or the 48 thread? As an example, if I put "420" or "420 Sundancer" or something similar in the search text it includes posts outside the thread where someone's signature includes "420", etc.

On Google "quotes" means must be included; add the title of the thread to search just that thread.

site:clubsearay.com "300 Sundancer Questions" "bilge blower" will not return if bilge blowerS so be careful using quotes
site:clubsearay.com "300 Sundancer Questions" bilge blower returns any with either bilge or blower

but only in the specific thread

Of course one can always do a quick search and when one finds Nada, Just post the question in mind and in my experience there will be five happy to help responses. I know some of the long time members get annoyed with seemingly juvenile questions, some of the newer members with knowledge will pipe in and give adequate guidance.
I view the site several times a day and when I see a new post, I see the number of replies and unless I have specific experience that may be helpful I just move on to avoid stuffing the thread.
Just my 2 cents

As Cop has pointed out there may posts on the 400 thread on different subjects itermixed among each other that are hard to follow as to who is replying to who and it lacks continuity so hard to follow. I am on numerous boating forums and I have never seen threads that have no end. Some posts on the 400 are about window leaks some are about swim platforms some are about performance etc. Makes it difficult to just read about and follow just one subject.
Old posts could be archived. Sorry about my spell checker not working.
Thank you all for your interest.
