No. If you’re hitting the engine rpm’s at wide open throttle, a 25 pitch will kill you. You’ll reduce the wot RPMs and be unnecessarily overworking the engine.

Looks like you should have a 17 3/4 X 21

Thanks everyone, I was trying to save some $$$$ but I decided to pony-up the dollars and purchased a new prop. Mercury - 17 3/4 X 21 514018 4800 which is spec for my boat 2000 240DA

I think you’ll save yourself a lot of hassle in the long run sticking with Manufacturer’s recommend props….they spend a lot money on research so we dion’t have to. We’ve all heard it……’If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ !!
