I'm new to the fourm. Just posted in general discussion. I'm a new owner of a 1995 Laguna 21one owner center console with 135 hours super clean barn find. I should have did my research before I brought it but I really like the boat hope it wasn't a mistake. Cause I can't find much about them.

Certainly not a mistake.....!

The Laguna line is a very solid well made fishing boat. The only knock on them is that they are so well made that they tend to be heavy compared to other similar sized center consoles. Some early ones were made in Merritt Island. Check your HIN# and if you are lucky, it will begin with SERF or SERM which will indicate that it was built by the Sport Yacht factory in Merritt Island FL. The fiberglass gelcoat people at Merritt Island did much larger boats and were accustomed to doing complex construction so the SERF and SERM HIN# almost guarantee that the gelcoat and layup work is perfect. The Laguna models were eventually moved to Knoxville (SERT) . The boats are the same and K
noxville was a good factory, just more accustomed to building smaller boats.

Oh, if you find that the Laguna 21 isn't a fit for you, please PM me.........I'd be a buyer.

They've got a great hull under them and, as Frank pointed out, very solidly built. There is support out there for the boat - through Sea Ray and, of course, through this forum. While you won't find too many owner's of that particular model, it's not because it wasn't a great boat. It's imply due to not having as many models produced/sold as the more "traditional" Sea Ray. A main reason for this is that, while an excellent boat, it simply didn't sell as well as Sea Ray had originally hoped. But that result was brought about since most buyers of CC's simply didn't associate SeaRay with a CC style boat. It was more of a "perception" thing than reality.

Any boat/motor can certainly have it's issues. But if you've got one that's been reasonably cared for, you've got a great boat that should give you years of happy times on the water!

I never knew about the laguna. Great looking boats! Im going to be keeping an eye out for ine in the west coast or nearby for sure

Thank you I'm glad to hear that I have a great boat. Yes haul starts with serm. I'll post better pictures next season I had boat shrink wrapped. I can't believe the condition that it is in like brand new. I had the original certificate of bill of sale from searay the original cutting block all paper work service records manuals the motor just had a new powerhead in 2010 with documentation also original ttop. My only worry is the fuel tank I been reading that they should be replaced after 12 years of service.

IMG_20151024_103403843_HDR.jpg don't know if I'm uploading pictures right but this is the only other picture that I have right now we pulled the cover off of her don't know if you can tell by picture but the gel coat shining. Had to stop at a gas station to air the trailer tires up.

Great boat! I was slow on the draw for buying one with low hours on it about 8 or 9 years ago, and still regret it.

I have a Laguna18 and love the boat. My only issue is the transom allows very little room for a kicker motor that I would like to use for trolling. I just purchased a Merc 9.9 and cannot figure out where to put it.

Install a platform off the port side? Can I use a tiller with this?

Sure - or a tie bar for steering.

Obviously you'll want a backer plate. Use a platform mount and an adjustable kicker mount to raise/lower it.

Right. I’m planning to use a tie bar if need be but am hoping to be able to use the tiller handle if at all possible. Was also thinking about a platform type mount that is short. Enough to still allow me to reach the pull chord. I’m having a hard time visualizing what it would look like since I can’t find any boats like mine with an auxiliary motor.

Sea Ray still has the brochure. Go to Sea Ray Boats, click OWNERS, Scroll to bottom of page then click model archives. Seard 1995 and your model! The file was too large for me to send. Like the looks of that boat! Conrats! Mike

Don't worry about finding a boat exactly like yours - all that matters is the horizontal surface as your starting point. Look for the two pieces I mentioned - it will make sense when you see the hardware.

A black, PVC well pump pipe works well as a tiller handle extension.

Awesome guys, thank you so much. Hard to get any work done today when all I want to do is get home and get moving on this!

I have one on the bow but only trolls 2.3 mph with no wind. It’s an auto pilot so I plan to use it in combination with the kicker to keep it on track while fishing.
