NW Inland Freshwater Rendezvous????

That all sounds good Jim. The noon should be ok, shouldn't it? We can do the 9 AM if needed, but if the noon works, we can have breakfast ready for you and Julie. We just got our hogs back, and the bacon is pretty darned good.
We're also leaving the kayaks and dinghy home, hoping the generator starts to cook meals.
We'll get someone to give us all a ride to the marina. Celeste has friends. lol

I've heard about the bacon from this guy. I may have to grow a couple of hogs just for the bacon!! Breakfast sounds good and the noon lock sounds good!

So what are the exact date for the start? I went back a few pages and can't find anything in ink.
I'm planning on being in Lewiston the afternoon of the 8th and spending the night there, do the trailer caravan to the Tri-Cities and back on the 9th, then head down to our first stop that same afternoon.

He's won quite a few awards for his bacon and ham's.

I'll keep my nose out of the arrangements for the trucks/trailers, just let me know where I need to be to shuttle youse guys around!

We were on our way back from PDX this afternoon and I spotted some markers along the river that I thought I'd bring to the attention of inland lake boaters.

If you have not boated in an area where "Range Marks" are used it might be a good idea for you to brush up on how they work. They will keep you out of trouble if you know how to use them.

OK, a bit of bad news...

I got a call from Kandy at the Port of Kennewick. There's a concert on the island then so they're going to be short on parking for trailers and can't accommodate us for parking trailers on the island.

She suggested I call the hotel and see if they will let us park a couple of trailers on their property. I know the manager of the hotel so I'll give him a call.

How many trailers are we going to need space for on the island?

I'm pretty sure Jim will be parking at my house.
If so, that leaves Nate, and he's welcome to park here as well if he wants.
I'm less than ten minutes from the marina.
I don't think there will be any concerts at my place while we're gone.
I just looked and their last concert is September 4th, unless there's something else that's not on the website.

I'm planning to park at Greg's place. I'd suggest Nate do the same thing. That way there are fewer people near his vehicle while parked for such a long time. I've never had a problem, but you never know.

Thanks for the invite. I'll be taking you up on your kind offer.

I just had a bad thought; the hoops for the canvas are up north. That means I'll have to make a whirlwind trip up and back this weekend to retrieve them, as there's no way I'm sitting in the sun for four days on our upcoming cruise. 'Always something...

Just a quick update on fuel prices. Hellsgate has fuel at $4.99 a gallon (Idaho side 5 miles upriver). RiverView Marina (Washington - marina as you approach Clarkston from downriver.) has it at $5.69 a gallon BUT the dock is tough to get to if you draft more than 30 inches. They are about 5 miles or so apart. The CHEAP fuel dock doesn't have any slips available, while the expensive marina does. Riverview Marina is $25 a night on their "long dock" and are first come first serve. I don't think they have power, but water is available along with all the comforts of the marina and RV park that are there. If you want a regular slip with power, I'll know more about that when the manager calls me tomorrow. They make you pay for 80% of the next slip over if you are over a 9-foot beam. Riverview also has a boat launch for Nate. He can throw us a rope and we can pull him off the trailer right to the dock!

I'd suggest we plan on meeting at Riverview Marina in Clarkston on Thursday! Greg and I can go up to refuel boats on Thursday or Friday while waiting for Nate to dump the trailer in Tri-Cities. It's a 2.5 hour run without a trailer to Finley and Nate can coordinate with Mike as he's approaching to schedule the return trip.

Thanks Mike (GFC) for your generous offer to ferry folks such a long distance. I'll contribute to that fund even though I won't need a ride! It's worth it and I appreciate it!

Looking forward to this last big hurrah this season!

Hey, it's what serious boaters do for each other!

Have you given any thought as to when you will be back in the Tri Cities? I want to have a little "after-cruise wrap up party" at the club when everyone gets back and I want to make sure we can dock the boats at the club on the night when you get back. That way there's no rush to get your trailers and get the boats loaded.

BTW, there is a very nice 2-lane ramp right next to the club.

Just learned that our daughter only has five days of vacation where she can stay home and watch the kids. If we could push this out a couple of days, that would give us the weekend of the 10th and 11th to get the boat into the water at Lewiston, float the whole week (thereabouts), then the following weekend to take the boat back up north and get back home. Will that work? I don't want to screw this up for everyone else.

Well, first let me correct my marinas! Riverview marina should be Hells Gate marina. Not to be confused with Hells Canyon Marina. Sheesh!

As far as pushing it out, my wife was just hoping to spend an additional night in Lewiston. That may work out. The clincher will be Greg's dogs and the Pendleton Round Up. We have to be back by Tuesday or maybe Wednesday.

That doesn't work for us as we have commitments on that Wednesday, and the next weekend.
But you and Jim can do it, no biggie to me.
You guys can still park here.
My dogs aren't a problem. The people taking care of them would probably keep them if we let them.
I just have to be back by Tuesday evening.

Greg, if we set sail (can I say that?) the morning of Sunday the 11th, would that give us enough time to get you back down to your berth by Tuesday evening?

I'll have to defer to Jim on that one.
It's appx 140 miles, and four locks.
I'm pretty sure it's doable at a leisurely pace, but not sure.
