Official 370 Sundancer thread

Looked at a 95 370 last night.. might be putting in an offer. God damn 203 pages, I have a lot of reading to do.

Only thing that concerned me was the 7.5kw Quicksilver Genny. I know nothing about any of the different types of genny's but reading on this forum it seems that parts are hard to come by for the Quicksilver, any insight or tips you guys can give me on this genset?
Plan on having it replaced. I think, don't know, on this boat there is enough room to do so without removing the engine.

Well, if you do buy it, I have a set of carpeting that were made specifically to fit that boat deck, snaps already Attached only use two months then we went to a different material. they are Berber light gray.

Ah, That's the answer I was afraid of lol. It does work right now, has 525 hours. Is that a lot for a genny?

I’m no expert, but that’s extremely low. My understanding is generators like to run and people have more problems with lack of use than overuse.

Concur. Seems really low.

But I was also told to make sure and run the gen at least weekly, as @Golfman25 said, they prefer to be run.

Yea guy said he doesn't run it much.. was a red flag for me lol. May continue on with my 370 search or throw in a bit of a lower offer. Thank for your help!

You can get it out without removing a motor, but you do have to remove the exhaust manifold on that side.

Don't forget that the floor hatch configuration between 95 and 98 is significantly different. Perhaps in the end, they both expose the same amount of opening, but I'm only familiar with the 98

Anyone replace their fresh water pump under the front birth. My doesn't shut off. No leaks that I can find. Filter looks good from what I can see. I am thinking the pressure switch but they are half the cost of a new pump. Plus, they don't make the old pump any longer. My pump is a shurflo 3901-0216. New pump appears to be 4138-111-E65. Anyone do it? And fit problems -- it's a tight space? Thanks in advance.

Just did mine over the 4th weekend. Easy enough for me to do, I am sure anyone here can do it.

I used this...https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DQT1FVZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it's been an improvement over what was there! Easy fit. Was maybe 10 minutes of actual work and I am terrible at these things, so as I said, should be easy for those more mechanically inclined. Which is nearly everyone and anyone.

Yes and it wasn’t the issue. The fresh water/dock inlet ON boat was leaking causing the pump to cycle off and on. Bad check valve. Replaced and problem solved. Hope this helps.

Anyone have any idea what a rebuilt/remanned trannsy would cost on a 1995 370?

Interesting, any idea where this check valve is? I know the inlet hookup is just inside my transom door. Is it part of that assembly?

You might check out these guys for your transmission

Yes it is. It dripped enough took me almost a season to find it lol. Just replaced to whole unit. Not hard.
Watch out for fresh water sitting in those coaming lockers. Not necessarily glassed over or even resin soaked plywood for the floors. I have a nice top access hatch for my genset due to rainwater sitting in those soaked carpet areas.

It looks like our 500DA is sold, should close Thursday. We are looking for a 370 Sundancer, 1995-1998. Does anyone know of one for sale? Thanks in advance.
