That white top comes off of the rest, the dimples are what holds it. Might just have to put a screwdriver under it to pop it loose

Chris 380 is correct.
The white cap will pull off. It has 2 dimples that hold it on.

Dock mate texted me to state my high water bilge alarm has been going off. He checked the engine compartment, all is well. I was working in there yesterday. I'll be there tomorrow, what should I check for?

Ha, here's my own poat from 14 years ago:

mrs Robinson,
Keep us posted on what you find here.
I have the same issue going on. But not until after engines have run for a while.
Systems monitor reads Forward Bilge emergency pump and an alarm.
Can’t find a drop of water anywhere. I hit the reset button every time it alarms, and it quits for while. Monitor sometimes resets and reads all systems normal. It will stay off for a while and then randomly alarm again. Always reading Forward bilge pump emergency. I have never found water anywhere. It’s been happening all summer.

When my forward bilge alarm went off I had overflow on the shower sump and that caused the alarm, have you and @mrsrobinson checked that storage compartment for water?

Forward bilge/emergency alarm is the one under the cabin sole just aft of the shower sump box.
if it is dry, then pretty sure its your float switch is going bad....mine was the 22 year old original (the kind that you cant push down on an external lever to test) and was giving me sporadic alarms with a dry bilge.
First thing I did was to cut the wires to the float switch and waited to see if the alarm ever came on again (if it did, even with the wire cut, then your Systems Monitor has some sort of internal fault). If the alarm doesn't come back on, splice the float switch wire and see if the alarm comes on. If it does, with a dry bilge, then the switch is bad (that was my case).
I replaced with a Rule Rule-A-Matic Plus
https://www.xylem.com/en-us/brands/rule/rule-products/rule-a-matic-plus-float-switch/

The screw hole spacing is slightly different from the old original type but easy to install.

The alarm problem was solved.

Sower Pump is good. I was on the boat all day Sunday, no alarms. Dock mate said it came on for about 10 minutes Friday and Saturday night, he flipped the Bilge switches at the helm on/off and it went away both times.

I have been in the forward storage area several times.
The shower sump has never overflowed and the entire storage area is bone dry.
I think I am going to cut the wires on the Pump just aft of the shower sump as gallf1 has suggested. If that works then I will replace the switch. Probably the pump as well and just start with a clean slate.
I know that it has to be the forward high water pump or the Systems Monitor. It is the only things that it can be.

You guys do have me thinking though, after purchasing the boat I noticed a bunch of wires were disconnected for the shower pump and it didn't work. I fixed them all up, maybe that was an issue the previous owner solved by nipping wires.

The starboard wiper motor on my 2000 380DA stopped working last season and I have been searching threads and the web without luck for the right part number and how to access the mounting location. Parts manual says the part number should be 1187087 but cant find it anywhere... assuming the number has been changed. I'm ready to throw in the towel and let the marina do it! Anyone have experience doing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there, was wondering if you ever found the new part number. I have the same one. I’ll call tomorrow the SeaRay tech number, but thought I’d ask nonetheless.
Ordered a new 36" cockpit table. It's a resin product actually intended for outdoor restaurant use. The color matches my dash perfectly. View attachment 81178

SCFoster

They are held on by double xmas tree fasteners

Thanks.. I had purchased an upholstery clip removal set of pliers from Amazon to remove the side panels in the cockpit.

Worked like a charm to separate the panels. Took less than 30 seconds to do both sides. Going to keep them to use in the interior.

Hello all... Finished reading this thread yesterday and, wow, what a wealth of info. Much appreciated.

I'm looking to get back into boating after being away for quite a while and the Sundancer 380 (or 38) is exactly what I'm looking for.

I've been looking here in the NY Long Island Sound area for the last few weeks and I've seen a two 2007 38's that look to be in very good shape although nothing I've put a bid in on yet.

I'm a little confused and I'm hoping someone can help me. Did Sea Ray make a 380 Sundancer in 2007 - or did the 380 become the 38 at some point? I've looked online but can't find anything helpful.

In general, I've recently retired and anxious to get back onto the water but probably could have chosen a better market to be boat shopping in :)

Any insight or info would be most appreciated.

Joe

I believe the 380 DA was 1999-2004/5 and 2006 started the 38

Chris-380, Thank you.

I've read that the 38 is 2' shorter (OAL) and has 6" less beam but couldn't find any other info.

Can anyone tell me whether the 38 and the 380 have other significant differences (electrical, plumbing, etc.)? The 2 38's I've seen both have the Mercruiser 8.1 Horizon engines and Kohler gens...

Just trying to educate myself :)

You're a gentleman...

No problem at all, it’s def smaller, a 40 would be similar to the 380 size wise

I think the 38’s are very nice boats. The only issue I would have is when they brought door into the center. I think it interrupts the conversation area that I so love on my 380. I love the look of the 38 for so many reasons though

Personally I like the interior of the 380 better than that of the 38. They changed the styling from "curvy" to more straight lined. It's personal preference though. Definitely less interior space on a 38 as well. To compare you really need to look at the 380 vs the 40. The 40 is a nice boat with a ton of engine room space.

Love my 2001 380 with caterpillar 3126s. This is boat number 8 for me, my favorite layout by far. It handles very well on the water as well.
