Does anyone know what these Deutsch connectors are for behind the gauge panel? Obviously they are part of the CAT EMS system, but what information can come from them if a device is connected. My CAT mechanic has no idea what they are for.

That boat had Cat 3196, Detroit, and Man as engine options. The connectors might have been for one of the other engine option displays

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone!

New item on the agenda: Has anyone replaced the original Sea Ray grab rails successfully?

If yes, please share.
Thank you and enjoy the next 12 days. Stay Safe!!

Happy New Year CSR Members!

I just thought I would share this information for your winter to do list.

While speaking with Rick at GHS lifts (Swim platform), he gave me a couple of maintenance tips, one of which I never really thought of. He recommended I check the hydraulic fluid level in the pump and make sure it is 1" below the top. Since this is my first boat with a hydraulic swim platform, I hadn't really thought of this item.

Of course, the pump is located in a really tight spot partially behind the generator sound shield making access nothing but a total PIA. Once I was finally able to negotiate my arm and get the cap off, I used a tongue depressor and marked off 1" levels on it. As fate would have it, the level was over 2" below the cap. It took nearly a full quart to get it to the proper level. I hate to think what would have happened had I lost the ability to raise the platform after a day on the hook. Rick stated that if the fluid was too low, we wouldn't be able to raise it with the hand lever either.

Hope it helps someone in the future!
Have a great 2023!

More items off the winter punch list: :)
The wiper arms were in bad shape as were the grommets under them protecting the 1" nut. I took the arms to a local shop and had them blasted and powder coated. Surprisingly, it was only $21.00 total for both arms! They look a million times better.
IMG_9204.jpg IMG_9205.jpg IMG_9251.jpg
I had to get creative with the rubber nut cover. I couldn't find this anywhere, rightfully so at 22 years old. I ended up making my own from a couple different parts.
IMG_9397.jpg IMG_9400.jpg IMG_9404.jpg

Finally got the new JL 800 X 8 amp installed and the old Clarion out. Did a lot of wire reconfiguring under the helm to clean it up after 22 years of old wires not being used just taking up space! The only item left for the stereo upgrade are the 4 custom mounts I am having made for the hard top where I will add 4 JL M6-770's. The wiring is all run and just waiting for mounts.

Added the Raymarine USB/card readers. Getting the Micro SD card out of the back of the Axioms sucks!!

Still a few items left on the punch list: New canvas, boot stripe, gel work/repair, AC duct to the helm. Ohhhh the fun of boating and 104 days until launch!!

Progress! For future reference AM Equipment probably has every part for your wiper assemblies you could ever need -

Shouldn't be an issue. I just bought some end of summer.

Great info., Thank you.
I went to their site and immediately found the part. Now to see if they will sell it to me.

They will but they have a $25 min order, I ended up getting several of them. Used them already on a couple of friends boats.

Next project underway: Adding 2 AC vents at the helm!

Some of the in progress photos I took when running the 4" insulated duct to the helm. It was really pretty easy and only took about 15 minutes. It would have been much faster with 2 people!

I am just waiting on the 3" duct for the two helm panel vents and my AC guy to finish making the diverter box to add the 2nd duct run to. Fun stuff!!

A work in progress:
Out with the old and in with the new. The first one is installed, just 3 to go. A much nicer look than the 23 year old acrylic grab rails.
IMG_9472.jpg IMG_9473.jpg

Next up, new angled speaker mounts for the hardtop. This is my prototype for test purposes. The actual ones will be painted to match the interior and made of solid PVC material. I am adding four JL 770's, sport grille with RGB lighting. This is going to sound killer!! Just getting started but won't be done until late March. All the wires have been pulled and run to the AMP, so it will be as simple as drilling the four 6.5" holes, screwing in the mounts and connecting them. Easy peasy!!

Almost done for the season of upgrades and we're ready to get her floating!!

Can’t wait to see your speaker pods. I was thinking to make a set for my dash, never thought about doing roof versions.

I am really pumped for them as well. The speaker face angle came out perfect!! I know it is going to really "fill" the cockpit with full sound.

When we sit at the helm my right ankle loves that speaker, and the salon door is always open blocking the port side speaker. When we sit in the back bench seat, the sound is all forward of us. Now, we will have the sound overhead and directed to the rear for the swim platform and at the helm down towards our head and not our feet.

I didn't want to take the easy way out and just install them facing downward, I really wanted to make them more directional. If these work out, my guy will be able to make them for you as well. (about $100.00 a piece).
I am still working on the mounting portion. I need to find #8, 5" screws for the long side. LOL

The worst/messiest and dirtiest part is now done. Drilling four, 6.25" holes SUCKS!!! Just need to get the custom mounts and we will be ROCKIN! My helper left after the drilling so I could only get sample pics with the tape still on the hardtop with the speaker. ;)
The actual PVC speaker mount will be painted to match the hardtop, hopefully it will blend nicely.

I had to move the forward speakers to the inside of the lights. I spent a considerable amount of time measuring the gap inside the hardtop as it moves outboard of the lights and got concerned the speaker magnet might not have enough room to fit safely. The plan was outboard of the lights, but I decided to go inside to be safe. It's a tight fit as it is, no sense in making matters worse as there is only a 1-7/8" gap! I cut a piece of wood and attached it to a tool so I could feed it into the "gap" to see where it started to get smaller. Wasted a LOT of tape making marks on the hardtop to make sure when I drilled it was going to be okay. I also attached a CAD drawing of a couple different angel options. I went with the 23° option.

Note: The wires hanging are the +/- speaker wires and the 4 RGB wires for the LED's in the speakers.

Taking off for a month to work in Mexico next week, hopefully the speaker mounts will be done by then. :)

Hi all, new here. In the market for the last generation of 510 Sundancer. Also have a line on a boat house but not totally sure it will fit.

Anyone know if the 50'10" LOA is from the tip of the anchor to the back of the transom, or from the tip of the bow to the transom? Would be really helpful to know.

Thank you!

What model year are you looking at?

I have a 2000 and trust me when I tell you, what Sea Ray prints in their manual, is not exactly what the boat actually is. My new to me 510 fits in my building, but barely!!! I have the hydraulic platform and I had to remove my anchor for it too fit. I am within a finger nail of touching the back wall in my condo and have 2" to spare at the garage door, making this boat a tad over 56'. The spec. sheet states it is 55' w/opt swim platform.

Good luck in your search and I hope this helped a little.
