Official Searay 200 Thread

Hi Guys,
I have a 1993 200 OV with the three tops including the camper top and frame My boat was in storage for most of its life see my previous post the camper canvas is in great condition and has screened windows and the clear vinyl windows, if anyone is interested please let me know. Here in South Texas I really need a Bimini Top not a black camper top!

Hello. Do you have pictures? How much?

Well thanks to a member I am now following this thread. I have a 2003 200BR with a 5.0 Merc. It has been sitting and I am starting to revitalize it. I know it will need new canvas covers if someone has a link for a good company that makes snap in covers. Once I get it on a new trailer (end of the month hopefully) I will get it home and give it a deep cleaning.

Good luck with the canvas. Great Lakes that is pretty much THE manufacturer of covers isn't even taking orders yet from anyone but boat manufacturers, from what I gather.

That being said, there is a full enclosure set for 200SD on sale on Ebay right now. It's 3 separate listings for front, sides and rear. Not sure If the bowrider and sundeck share the same canvas.

Thanks for the info!

Checking in with my fellow 200 skippers. Anyone know their potential launch date for the 2022 season?

Hi there, I am new to the forum and I just found this thread. I just purchased my first Sea Ray, a 1992 200 in great shape. I snapped this picture just before I put the cover on.
Nice boat! Looks alot like my "new to me boat"

I am hoping to revive this thread as a new member. I will get pics of my boat as soon as I can but I am glad to be here! I do have some questions on upcoming projects and I am hoping for some insight. I look forward to talking to you all!

Welcome to the Club. Looking forward to your contributions.

Hello all. I purchased a 1995 200 bowrider signature select just over a year ago as a project boat, and just getting around to getting it ready now. It had a cracked 350 mag 4 barrel, and an SEI "Alpha one" drive. As a Mercury mechanic, that wasn't going to work for me!!! I have built up a 350 Mag MPI, bravo transom assembly and a bravo one XR drive. I am getting rid of the through drive exhaust and will be installing 4" stainless exhaust outlets on the sides. Does anyone have pictures of a similar boat sitting in the water? The scum line on mine when bought was from when the boat sat with water above the starter motor and with a heavy list to starboard, so I can't rely on it.
I'd like to have some ideas of where the outlets will go. I will launch it to get the exact level before cutting, but if I have an idea beforehand it will help in where I place a second battery and other accessories in the engine bay.

Hi everyone! Last year new boat owner of a 1995, 200 Overnighter. After having some problems last year, the start of the season looks promising. However, the guy who worked on my engine says a 28 year old Mercruiser engine is pretty much way over this life expectancy. Having said that runs way better than around last year after replaced alternator, plugs and some wiring.

Hello all. Just picked up a 2005 200 select on Saturday. Been boating for a long time but this is my first I/O so lookinh to learn. I have already ordered JL 7.7s and a 10 inch sub. looking for ideas on sub placement. Thanks!20230610_110047.jpg 20230610_150457.jpg

My Select came with a large sub in a professionally built particle board box, with legs and the speaker pointed down. I put it in back area, starboard, beside engine. It sounds great. I put the amp on a circuit protected by a low voltage shutdown/alarm. I was tired of fussing with 2 batteries, went to one, and had the room. The alarm goes off whenever voltage is low on the boat. I carry a lithium jump pack in the sunglass storage, starboard, with a USB connection to the pack. Last year the boat had not been used for 1.5 months of cold weather and it was time to pull it from the marina. Relatively new lead acid failed but jump pack started the 5.0 with marine oil.

I replaced my 1993 Mercury 150 hp Black Max 2 stroke outboard with a 2023 Mercury 150 hp Four Stroke outboard. I was running a 14.25 x 19 propeller on the Black Max, but the Mercury prop selector said I should run an 18 inch pitch propeller with the Four Stroke. I put on a 14.25 x 17 propeller and easily hit 5800 rpm during break-in (WOT is 5000 to 5800 rpm). Next season I'm going to switch back to the 14.25 x 19 propeller which should bring my WOT rpm down to 5400 rpm. Top speed with the Black Max and 19 inch was 44 mph. Top speed with the Four Stroke and 17 inch was 41 mph. Switching back to the 19 inch should get me back up to around 44 mph.

Please compare the two. Thanks, John

Why would you want to lower your RPM so much when you're so close to an exact match? Ideally, you WANT to be at the max so when you're carrying a heavier load or doing watersports, you aren't lugging the engine.
