Pandora, Spotify, SiriusXM, Amazon Music, etc. which do you use and why?

I just heard on the local news that Spotify is laying off a bunch of employees this week.

I have free Pandora app on my phone. Not about to pay for unlimited skips and no ads. I listen to modern country and then my thumbnail station. Whatever plays, plays.

The Siriusxm dj's on the 70's, 80's are old MTV vj's. No big deal. There are dj's on Y2country and The Highway and I actually like to listen to their chitchat, especially Storme Warren. Kelly Pickler and Buzz are fine too. None on Yacht Rock or Road Trip. Music is as much just background for me as seriously listening to it. I don't listen to any of the talk radio stations on Siriusxm.

That explains a lot ;)

I probably need to give it more time. My experience to date has been driving only. Mostly quick 10 mins trips.
I take it you don't like country. I have friends like you:eek::). They like the Pulse or the 90s station. I don't mind the DJs. Whatever we are listening to, it is background mood music while on the hook. We get no FM reception on our lake so it is either Spotify stored on the phone or Sirrius for us.

I like some 80s and 90s country. I think music genres have become blurred, grey, too much to try to categorize sometimes. Perhaps that's why I am struggling with Sirius.

I like the newer country, but when on the boat mostly Jimmy Buffet and the like. Can't stand the Pulse. 90's stuff is great - well the hard rock side of it that is.

Have you heard Arron Lewis of Stained and his country song's - not bad for northern redneck.

We have gotten away from the Pulse and more towards the 90s or Spotify when those friends are on the boat.

I lean towards modern country but @mrsrobinson is correct that pop and country are running together. I believe all of the talent went to "country" because it was the popular genre but they brought their pop roots with them.

I have not heard of Arron Lewis, I'll have to look him up.

Here are some of his big hits - Am I the Only One, Northern Redneck, Country Boy

He is the singer guitar player for the rock band Stained. Massively popular. But his popular country stuff isn't bad.

He was good in Stainded, I listend to Country to Boy, sounds just like Stained ;-)

Northern Redneck is the kind of country I can listen to.

Kenny Chesney - No Shoes, No Shirts , She Thinks My Tractors Sexy

Brooks & Dunn - Neon Moon, Boot Scootin Boogie

Garth Brooks (his concert 3 years ago was the best I've ever seen)

I think all of this is country, popish, Gulf and Western

Now Spotify is where songs can be found, but you need iNet to use that.
Do you really need the internet for Spotify?
Jaybeaux
You don't need iNet (assuming internet) for Spotify, but you do need cell signal. You can download songs as Jaybeaux said, but I've never messed with that part.

But then, 5 minutes later I may way to Break Stuff: https://www.google.com/search?q=bre...#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:f5b15da1,vid:jd_HmLEhVqA

Kenny Chesney - No Shoes Radio Channel 57 on Sirius XM.

Isn't cell signal equal to iNet?

2+ week into Sirius and it, sucks. DJs, I can never find a song I like, too many channels I will never listen to, etc. Someone convince of the value please...

:)
It's great for long trips. Also the variety is cool. I have my 10 pre-programed channels. But sometimes I'll binge the comedy channels for a week or so. Also hit up the news channels from time to time. And if I'm not home to watch it on tv, I can listen to my Hoosiers play basketball most of the time.

Yeah I'm definitely going to give it some more time, I think I get 3 months or something like that before I have to start paying in full.

I have Sirius in my car, I don’t do a ton of mong trips, but I have found I like it better than Pandora or Spotify. I don’t know why, because I have pandora on the boat… lol

let you plan expire, then wait a month and the offers will pour n. I can usually lock in to a great plan for my work car and the app for $60/year…

For those that have DirecTv on the boat, do you ever use the 800 channels (Music Choice) for music? I'm assuming this would work well when out of range for cell service.

No need to wait, I put a calendar reminder in the day before my yearly plan expires, I call them up and get the same deal for another year...

I had DTv for years and it worked great. teh only issue now is if you don't already have service only HDTV service is available and the equipment for that is very expensive.

Your much better off getting StarLink sat service and streaming YouTubeTv.

What's odd is since I subscribed again (I had it when it first came out) I am getting all kinds of email offers from SirusXM. It's as if they have no idea I just subscribed, again.

I get a ton, for me it’s because I have 3 cars and have had accounts on all 3 of them. At least that’s what I think…
