Planning to sell my 1999 400 Sedan Bridge. Price Suggestions?

Hello everyone. I've been posting and a member here since 2014. I'm planning to sell my 1999 400 Sedan Bridge, CAT 3126, 420 hp engines- 3 Stateroom. Great maintenance including Aftercoolers/Heat Excahngers/Oil coolers this year, new dripless shaft seals, bottom paint, cutlass bearings, Salon AC, etc. Engines have 1400 (Aetna Digitals) and Westerbeke with 2400 hours. I'm based in Fort Lauderdale. Any idea what price I should list it at? Thanks

Speak with a broker who has detailed data for the selling prices of boats like yours in comparable condition. Assuming your boat is well cared for and you have all of the maintenance documented, you may be surprised to find out that what you think it is worth is not very close to what the boat will actually go for. You may be too high which is common, or too low, less common. Other than condition, the biggest obstacle to a quick sell is a price that is too high. Buyers watch specific boats, and will not call until you hit the sweet spot. A competent sales professional knows what that is. A better approach than getting opinions from well intentioned people on the internet.
 
Agree with above. I'll add that the 3 stateroom version was not as popular of an option so soldboats data on those will be hard to find. I don't know how much if any that floor plan would reflect sale price. Good luck with the sale.
 
Thanks for the insights. I've maintained it meticulously with an excel spreadsheet documenting everything. It's a great boat but health issues have impacted my ability to enjoy it. This year I did extensive maintenance with the expectation to keep it for a long time but life does have a way...

Price it at $20k and I be all over it! Who I kiddin, I couldn’t afford put fuel in that monster. Good luck with sale.
 
I disagree about the extra stateroom. Different people have different needs. That would be perfect for a young family with children. Sometimes out of the ordinary stands out. You have a great power plant with those Cat's. If you have maintained it and documented it, I would think that boat will be very appealing. Good Luck, JC
 
There is a '99 twin diesel 400DB near me (east coast) listed at $92k that just went pending.
 
3 stateroom??? Didn’t know there was such an option. Post some pics if you’re listing.

I believe on that 3 stateroom model the galley is located where the starboard loveseat is located. The galley area is lifted to be similar to the port area where the dinette is located and the third stateroom is under that area.

Yep.
Really few and far between. As mentioned, nice if you need the extra stateroom or want a place to put more stuff or remove the bunk in the 3rd and do something else with the space.

There's one for sale or sale pending on yachtworld in Little River SC

And it listed at about 1/2 the price of all the other 400DB's on Yachtworld. Other than it is approaching the 2000 hour service on the CAT 3116's... I have to wonder why it is priced so low....

How long have the higher priced boats been on the market? If they are there for a long time, the price is probably not right.

It does seem a little low, but always hard to tell the true shape of a boat from pictures. No ER pictures either.

Not sure how long they have been for sale. I do know that my 2000 400DB surveyed a lot higher than $92K but slightly lower than the all of the other 400DB's on Yachtworld.
 
FYI, friend just sold a 98' 400 with 3116's that was 100% freshwater in great shape for $120k. I think he could have gotten more if he waited till Spring. Your boat here on Lake Lanier should bring $120k not a problem.

That boat has been for sale for about 18+ months with several different brokers.
