When I installed my 943xsv in our 310Da. you have to cut the plug off to install the cable through the Radar Mount then install a new plug. This time around on our 340Da. when installing the Garmin 1042xsv I'm using a terminal stripe and using ferrules on the wire connections. I using one of the bolts for the dome mount and a Z bracket and mounted two 12 connector terminal strips one on the top and one on the bottom. This will clean up all the wires from the Nav. lights dome 12 volt power and communication cable. With the terminal stripe it will be easier to remove the Dome and mount if I ever need to. Used butyl ribbon seal on the mount so it will be removeable.
