Working on a 2002 280 sea ray sundancer with a 496 mag. Changing the sea water impeller along with seals and shaft. It came with new seals and bearings. The confusion is the aft seal. Manual states it goes one way on older style pumps and the opposite on newer pumps. My engine serial number is OmO95332. Any help would be appreciated

"seal" a device to seal liquids.
I install seals with the lips facing the liquid side. On these pump bodies I put the seal closest to the impeller lips facing impeller. The front seal I install lips facing outward

Thanks Bt Doctur , I found my seal number and installed it the way the directions stated. It had two different ways depending on the year . That’s what confused me. Thanks for your help
