Senate Control

Don't forget our state run media and their influence on voters. In my opinion they do more to persuade elections than any politician or hot-button topic. Think about BLM. After the election not a word about it. Think about Hunter Biden...not a word. Fetterman pulling a shotgun on a black jogger? Not a word. Fetterman never having a job? Not a word. But a Republican farts and it'd all over the news

30+ year history of that and yet only three will take them on - Trump, Deasantis, and Lake. Go figure.

And only one of them can do it in a palatable way. If we are to get things back under control we need to get dems and independents to cross over just like they did in ‘16 when they thought that his crazy behavior was scripted by the writers of The Apprentice.

Boatman nailed it. They have the media under control to their interests. You tell me who doesn't have at least two t-v in their houses and watch the six o'clock news on 2,4 or 7. Look at what their doing to Twitter. Musk is all of a sudden a dick because he wants freedom of speech. I'm surprised they don't edit our Constitution. I'm a proud veteran who is embarrassed by what this country is accepting.

I’m with @Golfman25, they should tie Mitch on to a donkey….(see what I did with that….LOL) and give the donkey a good slap on the asf to get it going….keep it going until it gets to Cuba. As far as Donald, NOONE who would be involved in the Jan 6 fiasco deserves to live in America, let alone participate in running it. Get Another Donkey, encourage another trip to Cuba!

Everybody seems to be avoiding the elephant in the room: Abortion. The reversal of Roe v Wade was the death knell for the GOP midterms. It was the DNCs rallying cry as evidenced by practically every political commercial they ran. In PA, every commercial ran by the DNC was about abortion. As a result, PA elected an Orc who never held a job.

Fact is, you NEVER make such a controversial political move when you are seeking power. You do it when you ARE in power. Had SCOTUS waited until after the midterms to rule on Roe v Wade, the red wave would have been a reality.

So you believe voters choose killing babies over inflation, crime, border, etc?

That right there is a nasty indictment on many Dems…whom I wholeheartedly believe makes them evil.

What does that tell you?
It tells me the senate is not in our control ….. the house is not decided yet because no man is going to tell a woman what she can and can’t do to her body. Right or wrong that is their reality.
You say incest and rape and you're stuck with the kid ….. women could care less about the economy

and think about it …. The Supreme Court could have waited the couple of months to over turn R vrs W….. it’s been a hot topic for years and years……that didn’t need to come out right before the mid terms

Absolutely. I can only speak for PA as I followed the results, exit polls, etc closely, but the exit polls overwhelmingly put abortion as the #1 issue for PA voters, especially women voters. Furthermore, new voter registrations in PA jumped dramatically just after the Roe v Wade decision was handed down, and the overwhelming majority of those new voters were women...

Regardless of one's position on abortion, women (and some men) have a fundamental problem with men telling them what they can and cannot do with their bodies. And the fact that it comes from the party that touts itself as the champion of 'lesser government' makes it even more distasteful.

One need only look at the extreme position Mastriano took to see why women voted against Republicans in PA. He was against abortion in ALL cases, to include incest, rape and cases where the mother's life would be in extreme jeopardy.

Think about it. How would you feel if you were a woman that was just gang raped, impregnated as a result of, and now told you will be arrested and charged if you get an abortion.

You obviously do not understand the law regarding abortion. With all the legal clarifications in layman’s terms available if you still think this is about the individual abortion right you are ignorant of the facts sir.

No need to banter on this though.

People deserve the government they elect. The Libs own our country’s current circumstances.

The republicans didn’t explain it thoroughly enough that all the ruling did was sending it back to the states. That’s their fault 100%. However trying to get in front of that narrative was gonna be impossible. Dems knew that..

Youre wasting your breath. They are the same people who continue to wear masks in their cars.
Sheep.

I hate to break it to you but the gubberment absolutely tells women AND men, children, and anything in between what they can do w their bodies. In fact not only what hey can do but what they must put in it.

Or have you forgotten?

I understand it very well, thank you very much. You just keep thumping away at your bible and leave us 'ignorant' folks to our own devices....

Chris L. Can you link to some of those exit polls. You may be right, but I have not seen polls that have offered definitive info yet on what happened in this election. The abortion issue may have been it, I just haven't seen anything convincing, yet.

As far as opposing abortion, just understand that you are suggesting that people who believe abortion is murdering innocent human life should sit on their hands and keep their mouths shut, because people who believe it infringes on their freedom won't.

As far as the party of "lesser government"... That party is not no government, it is limited government. Our founders stated the purpose of the government was to protect life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Are those that believe a human life can begin before birth being 'distasteful' for defending the very first purpose of our government?

The UK released a research video of an ultrasound that appears to show a baby in the womb will giggle and laugh when it's mother eats sugary treats. There are also videos that show babies in the womb appear to scream when they are stabbed. Is it somehow grotesque to think that might be a human life?

For controlling people's bodies... We do it all the time. You can't inject heroin. You can't sell your heart. You can't even sell your kidney. You might not even be able to keep you job without getting certain vaccines.

Abortion, like many moral issues certainly has its challenges. But people tend to grab onto them pretty hard right or wrong.

A little more than 150 years ago one side of politics was willing to fight to the death to protect their perceived right to own other human beings and end the Union. Thankfully, other side was willing to fight to the death to prevent the owning of other human beings and save this Union.

I don't know what happened on Election Day, but I never expect people who go to the polls to forget issues of morality.

Excellent post. I'll just add, we haven't really had an honest debate on abortion. It's that crazy aunt we keep in the basement. I know many women, my adopted admiral included, that are "hard line" my body, my choice, blah, blah, blah. Problem is, they don't really believe in the Democrats position, they just think they do. Once you start pointing out Dems want abortion up to and including birth, object to parental consent, etc. etc., they comes around. If we actually showed the procedure, many women would change positions in a heartbeat. And of all people, Hershel Walker put it succinctly -- there's another party in the room we never talk about, the baby.

Agreed. Therein lies the problem. The Democrats did an outstanding job of framing the overturning of Roe v Wade as an outright ban on abortion, and the Republicans did a terrible job of explaining that it wasn't a ban but rather a decision that left the issue of abortion in its rightful place, at the State level.

It all boils down to who controls the narrative. And the Democrats, by virtue of the fact that they enjoy the backing of Academia, the media and countless major corporations in the tech world, did indeed control the narrative.

My point has always been that abortion was a central issue in these midterm elections. Even if the economy was the biggest factor, abortion was a big enough factor to most definitely affect the outcome.

Look at the predictions pre and post Roe v. Wade. before it was overturned even the most ardent Democratic pundits, and quite a few Democrat politicians, all but agreed that the Republicans would make strong gains in the midterms. That narrative changed dramatically in the weeks and months following the overturning of Roe v. Wade. They still believed that the Republicans would make gains, but nowhere near as much. In the end, Republicans didn't take the Senate and, despite narrowly taking the House, underperformed in every aspect.

What changed? The only major political event that took place was the overturning of Roe v Wade., and one cannot discount its role in the midterm results.

If a pregnant woman is murdered the suspect is charged with double murder

And don't forget...my body, my choice, but that didn't apply to the COVID vax that has been a joke
