If you have access to an overhead winch in your shop/garage/carport, get yourself one of these: https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Demco/DM6100.html although, at $55, I figure on welding one up from a chunk of water pipe and some scrap iron. I can separate mine into two pieces, but it's still all two of us can do to haul this pig out of the truck.

Yeah, the Companion is 2 pieces also. 60 something and 75, 150 pounds roughly, and I feel old when I have to dance with that thing. A 5 pound 2 5/16"ball is more to my liking and the air ride pin box.

Or just get an Anderson Hitch.
My truck already had a gooseneck hitch, the Anderson Hitch is lightweight and easy to install.
I'm mad at my truck right now, so no pics.
It's at the shop getting a total engine rebuild. 7.3 powerstroke.

Don't want to side track this thread. Those are well liked hitches but Keystone/Lippert wont warranty frame issues if using AUH's purchased after 3/21 and we bought the hitch just after that. but it is nice and light.
What happened to the truck?

I’m blessed when it comes to trucks.

my Sunday ride is a 2012 Chevy with a custom hailer bed. Tows anything I want up to 24k lbs without slowing down.

my 2019 4500 with a custom bed we built for making the money to pay the bills.

And a 1999 F550 with a 7.3 just because.

Here’s mine. I love it until I have to take it out. I have to get it to the tailgate then use an engine hoist. No garage :(

Oh, no! What happened?
#8 cylinder dead, engine needs rebuilt. Because everything has skyrocketed in price, it's going to cost $15,000.00.
On a positive note, the guy's a great diesel mechanic, and won't take any shortcuts.

The new broncos have sodium filled exhaust valves the snap. Not good. Pushing a 4 cyl.very hard

No pics, I grew up around work/excavation/job site pick ups. My dad always had a Dodge, but then got a Ford at some point. These were no beauty queens, beat up, dirt/diesel in the bed, dents/dings/scrapes, sometimes grass was growing in the bed. I remember the heater cable was broke on one, he never fixed it, the thing blew heat 24 X 7. AC was a luxury item then.

I bought a brand new 2004 Ford F150 Lariat with all options. Black with tan leather captains chairs. Sold it after a year as I was afraid to use it "as a a truck".

A few blemishes from the trees dragging down both sides, but she takes us everywhere we want to go and with whatever we hook to the back of her. More of a tool than a truck for us. And can't forget the bread-and-butter wagon.

She's in the shop right now getting new plugs, struts, brakes, PCV, oil change and a full fuel cleaning package (cleaning injectors & valves). When I bought it new, I peeled off the FX4 stickers - I hate stickers.

Sodium filled valves have been around 30+ years. That alone shouldn’t cause the valves to break, possibly some other engineering shortcoming.

Do these count? Thought since a Bronco slipped in, Jeep should be represented as well.

I may need to swing by really late at night and pick one of those up.....

Last week we rented a 2021 4 door JL in Puerto Vallarta for a couple of days. I was really impressed with it. Enjoyed the removable t-tops. I rented the Jeep specifically because I've been actively considering replacing the very under-utilized motorcycle I keep in Florida with an inexpensive 2012-2017 JK 2-door. Florida motorcycling hasn't been very satisfying.

I may be looking for a unicorn that could be tough to find though. I want a nice, not perfect, condition factory hardtop that's not too jazzed up and has under a 100K miles. The lower the better. Most colors are fine. Power windows and auto would be big pluses but not mandatory, depending on price. Priced between $15K-$20K

Could be direct injected w/turbos that screws up the valves. They need to be serviced & cleaned about every 75K miles IIRC. My truck is about 25K miles overdue
