You can, but it takes affect on the next billing cycle. Can’t just make a clean switch. If you turn one on the 15th it goes live right away. If you turn the other off on the 15th, if shuts down on the 1st.

Only by the month of your billing cycle. So it is of no real benefit to shut down/turn on. Unless your doing so for more then one month, like over the winter. If I could do that with the cell contract I'd be very happy. But at least the cell is only $50/mth and the SL can be put on hold for the winter.

Problem is that cell service here is sketchy. Not much point in spending $50/month for something that will barely work. I think SL is the way to go.

I skeptically tried a lightning to HDMI adapter and it works surprisingly well. I can stream on the edge with 2 bars. 3 bars+ and it looks like sat TV.

I added the 40G antenna. Was wondering if you use all 4 wires for the 5G cell data or i understand you can use the 40g to double to pickup the Marina WiFi signal.

Didn’t know how you differentiate the use of the 40g and the 4 wires between data and marina WiFi.

Yes I use the Maritime 40G for just the cell inputs and I also have a Poynting 496 for just the wifi reception. I tried using the 2nd wifi connection on the 5G for the boat's wifi but there is a bug in the 5G that doesn't allow for private VPN connections to route separately form the iNet and is combined for wan reception. For that reason I use a separate router for the boats wifi.

I use all four leads to maintain the 4x4 mimo support of the antenna, it really helps in places like Farelee creek. Although all four leads are not needed for that, the frequency coverage does need it. But yes with adapter leads you can split the antenna's output for the WiFi as well. The 40g does have overlapping frequencies that cover the wifi signals. So yes it could be used. But from my understanding from the PL forum it's not the best way of dealing with wifi and why I have the Poynting 496.

So to answer your question, any of the four leads can be used but will require an adapter to go from SMA to RP-SMA for the wifi. The difference id the center pin missing or not. Connecting the wrong antenna type to an output such as wifi, can damage the output circuitry of the wifi transceiver if they are not mated.

We get 2ish bars. Right on the edge of being able to stream reliably.
