Went to a car cruise today and was talking to an old buddy that said another friend of mine is going to be on Street Outlaws next spring (he thought around March). He has a '55 Chevy gasser called Chisholm & Stasiak (unless they changed the name or Chisholm bought the other guy out, dunno). But buddies name is Dan Chisholm. We have been friends since high school and I bought my '57 Chevy from him. He had a '64 GTO in high school then had a '78 Malibu tubbed out with a 509 BBC. Ran low 9's street legal. Then he had the '57 with a blown 350 mildly built that ran low 11's. Then the gasser he has now.

I may have posted on here before about a tip...don't pick your nose with mittens....that was from him...lol.

So was told today that they are not allowed to discuss anything about the event so no idea how it went but apparently it has already been recorded. I haven't talked to him in awhile but might reach out to him to get more info as far as what episode or whatever.

Another story about him...he was working for a guy that built and bought custom cars and they were at a Barrett Jackson auction bidding on Boyd Coddingtons truck. Tony Stewart was there bidding against him and Chisholm told Tony...'you don't have enough money to outbid him'. Obviously Tony had enough money but he didn't win the bid. A few months later Chisholm sees Tony again and says to Chisholm 'hey you are the a$$hole that was bidding against me'. Chisholm said he said it jokingly and they laughed about it. Once you see Chisholm you would see why Tony wasn't serious. Chisholm is a big boy...lol

Here is a pic of his car if he is still running the same one.

Hopefully he has a different car. That one would get smoked. Those Outlaws cars are really quick. They are 4 second 1/8th mile "street" cars

No idea what it runs now. He used to hang out with Kenny Anderson who had a 1978 Malibu with a 572 aluminum Donovan block with a Dyers 15-71 blower alcohol injected. It ran low 7's on street tires and thru the mufflers. He ran the Hot Rod Fastest Streetcar Shootout back in the 90's but with a stock frame he was about as fast as he could go. He sold it and I hear it is still around. Another guy we hung out with had a Ford EXP with a 509 BBC that ran 8's. I have been out of the game for 20 years so not sure what is happening now.

But my buddy told me today that the series is supposed to be called something like Fastest Streetcar in America or something.

Thats pretty cool @boatman37 I’ll look for the episode.

I met Boyd Coddington at his shop in LaHabra where I used to go to high school. We were visiting my family and I took my dad to his shop. The ‘new’ wife was there in the souvenir shop and as I was buying a shirt, she asked me what my favorite episode was. I told her the Aluma Tub.

She had a conceptual drawing of the Aluma Tub and sold it to me. I asked if Boyd could sign. She called him to the front and there he was. Hawaiian shirt and all. He signed it. He was a really nice guy. Him and my dad knew the same people (My dad ran the Midas warehouse that supplied most the west coast Midas shops) I asked him if he wanted a Tommy Burger, but he respectfully declined.

I have the Aluma Tub drawing on the wall in my office. I liked his clean styling and hot rod designs.
