I know that EVs can be kind of controversial, but I watched this video of a suspension and brake modified Model 3 Tesla on the Nürburgring and thought that it looked like a lot of fun. At the end they talk about battery consumption on the run, which is interesting as well. Its so strange watching the Tesla blowing by Porches and BMWs pretty much silently other than wind and tire noise, where you hear the other car's engines as they get passed.

Have at it…. You go first

Naw. I decided my post retirement vehicle buys are:
1. An F150 King Ranch (once they are available at less than MSRP again)
2. A muscle car to toy with (likely a GM 68 to 71 A-body)

When I have to drive from north of
Detroit to Kansas City, MO for work im not interested in sitting for an hour and a half twice charging a car to get there. Thanks ill keep my duramax. My duramax will still be running post two battery changes in those “golf carts”

And here in five or eight-years batteries are going through another evolution to sulfur based which can charge and discharge even faster than the current lithium batteries. I just read this morning that Tesla has a battery pack that can take their cars to over 700 miles on a single charge. But I still need the hydrocarbon noise...

Just thinkof it.....down at the drag strip it's like sitting in a soundproof booth. Now that's gonna get everybody wound up!

Interestingly our town has the highest per capital Tesla numbers in Canada. So they are far from rare around here. Just on our short street there are 3. A model S, an X and a 3. All three neighbours love them. And they aren’t tree huggers. Still not for me yet though. The performance is pretty awesome. Even that little 3.

Another neighbor just replaced his Cayman with a new 22 Supra. Yeah I know it’s basically a Z4, but I like the look and sound. So does he. He’s a Porsche zealot so it’s says a lot that he’s gone to the Supra. but I guess I digress.

Lots of videos of Model S at the strip blowing the doors off the Hellcats and Demons. But where’s the fun in that? The mopars win the sound contest for sure.

I wasn't aware it was about blowing the door off something; It's the enviro-adrenalin experience. Hard to explain; you'd have to be there....
Now I'd say that if the Redeye had all wheel drive it would be a different story....

It seems like we are gravitating towards EV for our next new car. Really interested in the new Mecerdes EQS.

It's not because of climate change considerations. It is purely and singularly about the experience driving and riding in the vehicle.

Only problem I see is that when our electric grid gets hacked again where do you stick the plug for a charge ?

Or thieves steal your charge cord at night. Lot of us on the right coast don’t have garages.
Never in my lifetime. I’d rather drive a rusted 70s Ford Maverick.
Dam, I never should have sold that car. The $100 wasn’t worth the loss.

Some want the Indy 500 cars to go electric. I’ve been to the last 43 Indy 500’s. For the life of me I could never imagine watching cars go by with no sound. The rush of hearing and “feeling” the sounds of these cars are what makes it exciting.

I was there when the Turbine cars ran. They were awesome too.

When the Formula 1 cars first came to Indianapolis I was blown away by their sound and feel. Watching cars go from 210 mph down to 20 mph in 200 feet. Wow.

I’ve been wanting a 68 mustang coupe forever. The Tesla rear drivetrain makes about 500hp and should fit into a mustang. It’s a tempting project.

I go to the Toronto Honda Indy and have sat right above the pits (corporate seats) and have to say that the hair on my arms and the back of my neck is up from when they start up to the end of the race. The sound and smell is a huge part of the experience for sure.

Oh yea and then that eye burning, respiratory shut-down, hearing damaging nitromethane and methanol at a Top Fuel/Top alcohol Drag race. You won't see any EV's in these classes. Zero to 300 in less than 4 seconds. I need a fix...

Video game from my current perspective -
Learning how to turn my big heavy american car with all the smells and noise -
That looked like a 2002 you passed. Sounded pretty knarly.

Ya I can assure you if a Musk mobile tried pulling in line at Cecil County Raceway they would …….. not be allowed to participate in the festivities.
