I'm just going to be 55 this year and I see too many in this range sadly as well. Scary shit.
One of my coworkers went to the doctor and asked him “Will I make 80 doc?” The doctor replied let’s get you to 65 first. If you make 65, odds are you will make 80.
i guess there is a sizable group that passes before 65.

My mom died at 64 (heart attack) , dad at 70 (stroke complications) and my sister 71(heart attack). I'm the last one alive at 72. Guessin I'm now on borrowed time. I want to go like mom and sis.

Gordon Lightfoot passed away tonight…age 84.

“A legend of music …. Gordon Lightfoot, More than any other singer-songwriter, Gordon Lightfoot personified Canada. His robust songs about winter nights, morning rain, being bound for Alberta and sailing on Ontario’s Georgian Bay came closest to expressing for many Canadians the essence of life in the Great White North. Historical epics stood alongside romantic ballads.
Pierre Berton once said that Mr. Lightfoot’s Canadian Railroad Trilogy conveyed as much about the building of the national railway as his own best-selling book on the subject. When Mr. Lightfoot died Monday evening at the age of 84, leaving a vast legacy of more than 500 songs, Canada lost a masterful composer, a distinctive vocalist and one of its most beloved chroniclers.”

My family is all gone except my youngest sister and I. Being a guy, older, smoker, drinker, I jokingly said to my sister that it looks like she'll win....be the last man standing. She couldn't see the humor in it at all:rolleyes:
