I really enjoy Bulleit Rye mixed with lemonade. Another go to drink is Crater Lake vodka mixed with Fresca
The Woodford is good- son, nephew and I enjoyed a bottle on a rooftop in Seattle of all places last year, but I'm mostly a beer guy. Yeungling lager is my favorite.
I think this current bourbon craze is much like the craft beer craze. I think 1/2 of the folks actually like the stuff, the other half say they do to impress their friends and/or because they think they should. It took my a loooong time to appreciate sipping bourbon. I thoroughly enjoy "good to me" bourbon now with a few drops of bitters, some agave sugar, an orange peel and a block cube of ice. First one I started with was Buffalo Trace, then Bulleit (Rye and Bourbon) then Knob Creek then Woodford. I discovered a couple more I like doing these bourbon tastings.
Trying to finish up a two liter of Pepsi and cracked this open as mixer. Not a fan....we bought it at the end of the distillery tour.
And that's why it's gone. I am not a huge Beam fan...but their distillery tour made for a good day date....and we picked up some different varieties while we were there...
Three problems here. Actually 4. 1. Pepsi. 2. A 2 liter, if I bought you a 2 liter of beer, would that be OK? 3. It was already open. 4. Vanilla flavored bourbon = Nasty! God awful nasty!
Heck, I switch from clear to brown at dinner. Gin and tonic with appetizers and seafood meals, switch to bourbon with meat or desert…
