This state/country is messed up

Brandon doesn't need an arms dealer to get guns to terrorists. He just abandons all they could ever need in Afghanistan and is kind enough to leave ammo, helicopters, armored Humvees...the list goes on.

Yeah that's a whole other debacle isn't it. Can't even comment on that it's so bad. He gave them a whole stockpile of U.S. military grade equipment. Talk about funding terrorists ...

Just my speculation. I mean, FPOTUS is the great negotiator. Ask Mexico.
As long as we are asking stoopid questions, why did POTUS get 13 soldiers killed in Afghanistan? Why did he kill a bunch of kids and an aid worker with a drone strike? Why did he leave $80+BILLION of arms in Afghanistan? Why did he abandon the Bagram base when the generals advised to keep 2,500 troops there and hold the base? Does he know who he is? Why wasn't anyone fired for the Afghanistan withdrawal fiasco?

@cdullard answer those. What's the answer?

I would offer they got Greiner done because that’s what Russia would do now. And they wouldn’t do Whelan now or during the previous administration either. So it may not be as nefarious on the current administrations part, is my point.
or maybe it is,

The ROOT...

For the first time in anyone’s memory, and perhaps the first time in American history at all, a Black woman was singularly important enough to the interests of the United States to warrant a months-long diplomatic effort and a prisoner swap with the country’s biggest nemesis on the international stage. That that woman is queer, out and in a same-sex marriage—and that her negotiated release came on the same day that Congress passed a bill that will codify national protections for such unions—underscores the significance.

It’s hard to imagine another point in history where that would have been a viable choice for an American president, much less one with an approval rating below 50 percent who’s laying the groundwork for a second White House run. But in this day and age, it was the only viable choice. Griner’s legion of fans and supporters, from those who have followed her WNBA career since the beginning to those more invested in her open and frank takes on social justice and LGBTQ issues, would never have allowed Biden to live down passing on yet another opportunity to bring her home, no matter who else it meant leaving behind.

And, Griner's arrest was based upon a violation of foreign established law (illicit drugs). The arrest of others still incarcerated were for political reasons. What if it were a CNN correspondent arrested? A FOX correspondent?

Yawn. Exactly the reason for the title of this thread.

You forgot a couple...in a same sex marriage, and underpaid causing her to play ball outside the USA so she can make ends meet.
She is paid exactly what she is worth. Nobody watches what is the equivalent of bad girl's high school basketball.

Makes you wonder, we sure have alot stuff, enough to supply the Taliban in Afghanistan and the Ukraine too

Good point. In regards to Ukraine, we conspiracy theorists (which seem to be always correct) believe there's some money laundering going on between Governments. FTX also comes to mind.

He alone can fix things, I don’t understand why he didn’t get it done. Negotiator par excellence.

Did he try and couldn’t get it done? Or not try?
He drew the line at giving up a convicted arms dealer who was responsible of tens of thousands of deaths. Brandon decided that virtue signaling for a US hating lesbian was worth it.

Remember when Trump got 3 hostages released from N. Korea without giving up anything? That's when you know you are respected. I am sure that isn't something you are familiar with.

@highslice I believe the troll has left the building. She came in here to throw a couple bombs thinking somehow it would have an affect. Realizing it didn't, she left, but not before calling everyone circlejerks. She'll be back when another MSM/DNC marxist Trump conspiracy arrises.

The choice was simple. She’s black, female, and lesbian.

What else can we expect from those globalist tree hugging commies?
I thought the Russians were the commies.

Yeah, I know @Dullard is a flamer. I just thought I'd take a couple dumps on her for posterity.

I truly believe what I posted earlier in this thread, that the inner democrats want to destroy this country and they are doing so from the inside out. If that were not the case things would not be what they are and not have done the things that are hurting this country. I can not imagine what the next two years will bring. I can only hope we are prepared for it. ...

Well, I for one am very happy she is back. The thought of any American unjustly in the Russian prison system is sickening to me. I'm glad she is out, wish her well, and hope she will begin to see this country in a more honest light.

However, the price we had to pay to get her back is proof of ineptitude. We have given over a hundred billion to Ukraine to fight this war. That has been mostly cash for them to do what they like with it. Given that is nearly double the annual budget of the Russians, it would be fair to ask if we even have any idea where it is all going.

I think the first part of negotiating for her return should have been for Ukraine to do a prison swap for her right away. It should not have been hard to motivate Ukraine to do so.

I'm just thinking off the cuff, but Biden could have approached Zelensky and said something like, "I'm getting on a plane in about six hours (he could look at his watch when he says it for effect), and if Ms. Griner has not been released, you won't get the billions of dollars."

And son of a bitch, I bet she would have been released.

After all, it worked for his son...
