Upper Chesapeake trip: Kent Narrows, MD to Potomac River - destinations to visit along the way

I ever tell y’all about the time we took 5 boats over to Jellyfish? Musta had 30 friends on 5 boats. Had my red 268, a 300 weekender, a Bayliner 28’ Contessa, couple of go fast boats. So we bow in on the beach, plan is stay an hour or two at most.
Well, the beers were flowing and all were having a great time.
Now, at that point I had been boating on the Chesapeake a good 20 years, we all knew about tides. we forgot.
So 6 hours later we go back to the beach and all boats were high and dry on sand. Outdrives barely in water. holy shit. Next high tide is 2am. Ain’t waiting for that.
We went back to JFJ and rousted up every big buff guy we could find, the skinny ones too.
Literally pushed 7 to 10 thousand pound boats off the sand into the water. A lot of bottom paint was lost that day.
Good times!

Wait, what? After 6 hours of drinking you get back in your boats and take off? ;)

So, what is up with our weather?!
Another lost
Chestertown dinner reservation made here: https://www.imperialchestertown.com/

It's graduation weekend, oh boy...I will report back with a review, sounds nice on the website/phone call.
Looks real nice. They are hiring dishwashers. Maybe you can work for your meal like in the old days.
Not as expensive as I would have guessed. Steak Frites looks good. Hell, everything looks good, didn’t eat dinner last night, starving.

I have not been on the boat since the St. Michaels trip. Good thing as the weather was not good last weekend and this weekend. Fingers crossed we get good weather to go to Chestertown this Friday - Sunday.

I don’t know why I thought you were living on the boat up here until you take it back to VA. I thought y’all on a month long vacation traveling around up here.
Enjoy Chestertown. It’s quaint.

Wasn’t to bad today, took my grand boys to Watermans for crabs, food was great, a little foggy but the bay was like glass

Yep, I was out Sat as well, but stayed in the Middle River area and just took a buddy for a quick spin. I was surprised how few boats were out....

I have noticed that even at the height of summer there are a lot less boats on the river on a Saturday compared to a few years back. Sundays are still busy, Saturdays not so much. And Fridays? Many Fridays I am on the river in my zodiac and am alone or 1 - 2 other boats.

Saturday coming we going to Tolchester. I cannot get a reply from them if the bands start this week or next. No matter. I need to burn off this $1.85 gas I got in the fall so I can refill with some of the new and improved fuel that i just know will run smoother, faster, and get me across the bay and back on 2 gallons. I got this setup

Looks like this weekend starts it all for them: http://www.tolchestermarina.com/t-events-list.aspx

Jellyfish is the following weekend, MD weekend.

Ha, been there done that before at other destination/favorite watering holes. Watching this video is what got me interested in Fairlee ...

Fairlee Creek in season, is one of the best spots on the Chesapeake. Totally a three day weekend if you can do that. But you need to hit Tolchester and the Shanty Shack on the way back on Sunday! The only issue now is Jellyfish Joel's doesn't open up until MD weekend.

We used to love FC when younger with kids. Hauled the zodiac and kids. Avatar picture is my son at Fairlee.
Now that it’s wife and me we prefer Tolchester. Free slips, easy in and out.
How did you find the event calendar? We beat the hell out of our phones trying to find. Appreciate it.
I’ll bet they just posted because yesterday the event calendar was TBD.
Thanks!
