Vector Imaging

Scott has been around for a long time and as far as I know, he has always come through with a quality product. He has had some difficult personal issues to deal with for the last couple of years, but, still he has come through. If I needed additional work done, I would contact him again. I believe that there are others on this board that would also support him and wish him well. I would hope that my friends would stick with me if the weather happened to turn against me.

Jerry,
I understand where you are coming from as a former client of Scott's. You also have to understand where any new clients may be coming from. Scott hasn't had "the weather" turn against him, he's had the world turned against him! Honestly, I can't even keep count on the amount of excuses he has come up with from what I have read. As a potential future client I originally overlooked some of the stories due to the quality of his work professed here on this site.
At this time I have to say that my ship has sailed. I don't need anything else brought in to my life willingly to aggravate me. I will be looking at Technographic or another supplier who treats his business more like a professional for this reason. I am sorry for Scott and all of his sordid problems but, enough is enough man!

Todd - I probably have not followed posts about Scott as closely as you have, so, I may be going a little overboard in his support. I do have to strongly agree with you when you say "I don't need anything else brought in to my life willingly to aggravate me".

Where is Scott in all of this? One would think that, with the potential market that he has here on CSR, he would at least speak up and make an effort to save his business. Despite all of his personal problems (we all have these) he should have a business plan in place to counteract all of the negative press that he is getting on this board. Until I hear to the contrary, I will not be sending my panels out to him.

Just looked at the Mako thread and have to agree that Scott seems to be having some real serious issues.

EDIT, I see we have a sponsor that cuts Sea Ray dash panels.

Marine Marks - Custom replacement Sea Ray dash panels

Sorry for the Boo-Boo. :smt021

I have been following this thread and keeping my mouth shut so far. I was a past customer of Vector imaging and although my panels got buried in snow next to his mail box it took months to get the panels back, which by the way don't even look close to the wood burl that was original on my boat . Scott did make the panels free of charge after countless calls and messages left . He knew he couldn't catch up with his work load I'm sure, but when your in business you need to do something to get on track! Needless to say I have too called Technografix and he is the original panel maker for my 03' dancer so he guaranteed me that the panels will match the rest of them. It's a shame that Scott has so many personnel problems it has ruined his business and reputation.

Joe, your panels were stuck in snow? That's going to be near the top of the list of reasons for the delays in getting panels from Vector Imaging. Here's the list so far...
#10 Back surgerys (5)
#9 Car accident
#8 Supplier issues. ( keep sending him the wrong orders)
#7 Internet provider (deletes his E-mails.)
#6 Pay pal account put on hold ( Couldn't order parts from supplier)
#5 Divorce ( father in law took away the big machine, leaving only the small one)
#4 Former business partner stole his CAD drawings.
#3 Panels were buried in snow next to mailbox
#2 Falsely arrested. ( worker he hired had a sawed off shotgun on his property)
#1 Sewer backed up and got feces on his machines.
That said, it's my understanding that his work, when it does finally arrive, is quite impressive.

I too have been following this thread, and must say that i am becomming more and more nervous with each passing day. I paid for my dash panels on Nov. 25th and I am still waiting with the rest of you. I called him this morning and the message on his phone stated that he is currently unavailable due to having to move his shop unexpectedly without notice. He says be paitent and that he will be up and running again in 10 days. I so want to give this guy the benifit of the doubt because of his quality of work, but its sure starting to smell funny too me. I am really considering filing a claim with paypal. The sad thing is that I could flood this guy with buisness. I am a marine mechanic, and I am constantley being questioned on dash panels for boats, and right now, I have 8 customers waiting to see how mine turn out so they can order a set also. Not so sure I want to recomend this guy to my customers until he gets his you know what in order.

It seems that he can only reproduce the pre -2000 years mine is a 2003 and its not even close , not to mention theres a white visible line around the entire panel that shows the underlying material , i colored it black with a marker. His answer to me was to have him redo all my other panels, " fat chance" not to mention that he doesnt have the technology tp reproduce my moulded switch panels that are not flat. So my suggestion is try and get your money back and move on.

No matter how good the work... Too much trailer park drama for my taste...

I dont see what great work everyone is talking about, the wood burl was layed over white acrylic material that shows around the edges looked like it was made at home.

My panel was perfectly constructed and cut in every way and the finish was so much better than the sh!t SR originally installed. Better than new, but better than new will not match your old panels if that is the goal. So sad for many of us to lose that option. My panel was $175 total shipped, SR, when they offered the poor quality relacement, was $495; so I was happy. That is why so many of us that nagivated the order successfully refered Scott so highly.

"Navigated the order successfully":smt043:smt043Anyone up for a challenge? Maybe we can make it into a video game. Different stress levels, villians, etc. Sure sounds like fun. What could we name it?

THE VIDEO GAME:
Can You Survive The Assault???
Players order parts and must navigate impossible odds to obtain their orders.
Terrifying and at times hilarious obstacles will appear to make the situation hopeless but savvy players will find a way to get the reward at the end.
Just don't lose your cool or you could end up with nothing.

Like I mentioned if you have a pre - 2000 sea ray it will match, he shouldn't take on anything after 1999 because it simply is garbage. The pieces I received are being thrown in the garbage because they are simply not nearly as nice as the s**t SR installed originally, ps there is nothing wrong with my 9 yr old panels I just moved things around on my helm and was looking for a blank panel
