Warranty and Service

Hello!

I am a new Sea Ray owner and am curious as to what the best way to make a warranty claim would be. I am finding it very difficult to contact Sea Ray directly. Is Marine Max the only option for warranty work? Should I contact the local one directly? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Sea Ray's position is that they build the boats and their dealers repair them. Your best bet is to go meet the service people at your local dealeship and just ask if they will pick up your service and warranty repair work.

We are seeing a movement in Marine Max toward not staffing their stores with a service department. The dealer I used, and still have a great relationship with, stopped selling new boats in 2010 but Sea Ray retained them as a servicing dealer on the northern Gulf Coast. Even though it has been several years now they are still a great resource for SR warranty work and for parts. Marine Max has a very nice store there but they do not have a single mechanic on their payroll………they hire the marina mentioned above for all their service work. You didn't give us a location, but if you strike out at your local dealer you might call Sea Ray Customer Service and ask them to recommend another place you can get warranty work done.

Mike, like with automobiles, warranty work goes through the dealer network. I suspect, with the size boat you have, you are limited as to your options of dealers. BUT, just for reference, you do NOT need to work with a Marine Max (although you can) - you just need to work with a Sea Ray dealer. In other words, not all Sea Ray dealers are owned by Marine Max.
