This tube popped out when I was changing my hydraulic lines for my bravo 2. What is it for?

Doesn't look like it's been used in a while... but if it's rubber then it's likely the pitot tube like John said.

Does your speedo work?

See if you can find the other end and use a brass connector to put them back together. Happened on my 1999 Chapparal many years ago. Speedo worked fine after that. Also, if it has sat for a while, check pitot hole on outdrive for spider nests.

I would at least, plug it, if you leave it. If the tube is broken, inside of the transom, it could draw in water. Not much, but still.

This reminds me that my starboard drive needs the pitot tube snapped back on.

Giving my Bravo 3 a once over, getting it ready to put in the water this weekend. I have the same type of rubber hose sticking out of mine. Was planning on coming here to diagnose what it is for, figured speedo related. Speedo hasn't worked in a season and a half, use to work fine. Does the hose connect to something? Do I need something on the end of it? Pitot hole.......whats that?! Outdrive related issues is not my field of expertise and hope its just a simple quick fix! 1999 270 DA Bravo 3 w/454.

I guess all can disregard my last post. Took me about 5 minutes of research to learn how to attempt to clean out the pitot hole carefully. Also located where the hose should be connected to on the outdrive and to attempt to run some water through the "system" with another piece of hose, type of syringe connected to it and little bit of compressed air. Anyother tips would be appreciated. Not intending on hyjacking Rogers original post.

Speedo connection on the drive

You are welcome. No problem. That's what we are all here for.

I would worry about the drive not the tube LOL maybe clean up and paint protect it

You probably can you really kind of need to see it or you could do it by feel you got to raise the outdrive all the way up and do it by feel you may be able to do it
