First off I won’t use name and ages. This is not a hypothetical question.

My wife is a teacher, she teaches a tough group. ED,LD,MR. she has been at it many years now. She has one student that has pushed all the right buttons. He has already threatened to come to the school and kill two of his teachers. They took out restraining orders on him. Courts put him on a probation sentence of 6 months and sent him back to the school. Today he told two other kids and my wife he plans to bring a gun and shoot the vice principal. He told the kid next to him he was going to cut him up and shove the knife down his throat. This kid is a prime case of how the school systems lack of movement. He’s actions to me fall under the new Red Flag law. He could easily walk home and the staff would let him back in.

I hate the new law and see it as a way to get someone’s guns but in this case I do believe it would be the right thing to do.

She is doing all she can to document his actions but until gets thrown out again. He is allowed and required to attend school.

I still have a few friends on the PD here and I’m thinking of taking this to one of them.

What would you do or suggest

If that is not a red flag waving I don’t what would be.

My thoughts and prayers are with the students and staff at this school.

As a matter of fact she is she's a better shot than I am if I was in the situation that your wife was in I would definitely go to the police and try and avoid a major situation I'm not telling you what to do you asked I'm just responding I would definitely get the police involved for sure

Make sure the administration is told & call the police. Document everything including her steps to prevent an event. If no immediate action is taken tell all the parents.

Not quite sure why your even posting this and not notifying the authorities. If the Schools Principle or the like won't do anything then they are the problem here. Also the fact that you posted this publicly sort of put's you in the hot seat and you have no choice but to report this or you could be liable as well.

Good luck doesn't quite cover this, but good luck.

File a police report. Tell both the principal and school board. Get on the record that this kid is making violent threats. Keep pushing until action is taken.

Like I said, he has already been in trouble for threatening two other teachers and given probation The school already knows. The PRO knows. It was a judge that put this kid back into the school. In my book that should have never happened. Everyone has been looped in, mom just wants him out of her hair during school hours. Which just turns the school into daycare for him.

This kid will be the one who will try to come in and shoot up a school. He lives well within walking distance and I can see him getting buzzed right in the front door assuming he was just late.
They are documenting everything but what happens meanwhile?

All can see the threat here, just no one seems to have power to override the courts wishes and get this kid out and back in front of a judge.

I brought this to you here just looking for advise, I don’t want to see another school shot up and the authorities say we didn’t know.

Each incident is a separate case. Just because he got a slap on the wrist doesn’t mean not to report the new threats. Eventually they have to move him out but you have to keep reporting the incidents.

Ummm. The outcome appears to be inevitable. What are you and your wife doing to prepare? A worn out trope, yet on point is When seconds count, the police are minutes away. To quote a friend who recently passed, "You're responsibility for the fight never ends ". To rephrase, are you waiting around to be a victim or are you going to fight for your survival?

Next threat she should call the police right from her classroom desk. I mean this isn’t really that difficult to figure out mate.

I’m with @Golfman25, report him, and keep squawking louder & louder until some action is taken to get him OUT OF THE SCHOOL! An accident waiting to happen…. Like @El Capitan, not really difficult to see the way to go!

What would I do? Encourage my wife to immediately find a new job, pension be damned...

Encourage your wife to change professions and get away from there before she is entangled in something that will haunt her forever.
