Some people, it seems, act much differently on these forums than they might in real life. Especially if, say, the wives were around.

For my own sake, I have a witness on this site, Slacker, who will tell you I am the exact way on here as I am in real life...in front of my wife, in front of friends. What you see is what ya get.

If others are putting on a persona, I wouldnt know.

Maybe you should come up with a "list" too...

Why not just join another forum where you can act like a 14 year old? I know you're talking about the Holding Tank and all....but the primary focus of this site is boating -- Sea Rays in particular.

All of this banter and stupidity lately has gotten to be very annoying and distracting to say the least. You're all grownups so act the way you want you want, I suppose. I will avoid the posts/forums that I don't care for.

Here's what's interesting to me....

Some people, it seems, act much differently on these forums than they might in real life. Especially if, say, the wives were around. Well, from time to time there are occasion's when us members have the opportunity to meet in real life. There are a lot of people who I don't think I would want to meet now that I've witnessed their crap on CSR. It's just my opinion that some people here are not portraying themselves in a very positive way....possibly in an inaccurate way compared to their "real life" behavior. Not naming names, not implying that I'm perfect, not passing judgment, not even saying that I'm right...just an observation.

I read what I want to read, respond when I feel I can add value, and I've learned to stay out of the fray. That's just me.

Some of us are great folks in real life but act differently here when confronted with internet bullies and know it alls.
Just sayin...

and I bet Mike is a good tennis player.

It's not like that...

I'm not here to ruffle feathers and make enemies and I didn't have anyone in mind with my comment. Just an observation, not a judgment.

(Well, I do take issue with tennis players...that I will admit.)

It was purely tongue in cheek…not directed at you, at all.

Well I am not meaning this to sound neagtive towards you even thought I do some bantering at times.

What you state is your right, so I doubt if you would care to meet me, but I am who I am. No different here or there. I will readily admit to not being PC.

I have no wife though. I have a lady friend and I will tell her as I have told others if you are so unhappy there is the door. Or in the vernacular I call a spade a spade, and believe me I have heard this mentioned to me more then once about not being PC.

I am not saying this to you or even implying it towards you, just explaining a bit about my philosophy here.

Will their be smoking and drink in their?

How about paying members get a place where you can go and talk about boat with like minded people...don't have to worry about fighting, childish behavor, if a thread starts to get out of hand it gets kicked out of the special place and goes into the regular board to spiral out of control...bad words/pictures are not used....just people talking about boats and boating.

The thing Bill is looking for seems to be going on all over the board...

We used to have this moderator that would edit and delete post to keep them clean. Not sure what happened to him:grin:

just my two cents worth.

the folks here are actually pretty decent from what i can gather from their posts. knowledgeable, intellegent. every know and then, there is a little smack talking, but it's respectful.there is a line, and it is not crossed.

the "other" site has the bilge. it gets into name calling, insults, slip fights, families are not off limits. nothing is. they finally decided that the f word is not acceptable.ironically, the big one is. the discussions are nothing more than internet tough guys talking trash. it's waaaaay to easy to get sucked into it too.

is that what you really want?
