Scott Adams, creator of the coming strip Dilbert is paying a high price for comments he made on his podcast that included numerous comments about black people. If you have not heard his podcast, it is worth listening to if only to hear a rich white guy make racist comments.

Dilbert, Adams' very popular cartoon strip is being dropped from publication by a LOT of newspapers. I'm sad to see that happen because I have enjoyed reading Dilbert for years.

So, my questions to you are this: In this day and age where almost every innocuous comment can be termed "racist", how can a guy make the comments he did and not suffer punishment for them? Is the cancellation of his comic strip warranted?

What say you?

Dude about half way thru the clip summed it up — “black people aren’t a the group, white people are.” This is the kind of crap you get after 15 years of divisiveness.

I think Scott was setting something up. He can’t be so stupid to say hat he said and not expect backlash. I don’t think people should be cancelled. But both sides better get real and have honest conversations.

Last I checked, no one has the right to not be offended. Is quoting a poll and Don Lemon now considered racist? Is he obligated to help black people? He didn't use the most artful language, but what does what he said have to do with Dilbert? Perhaps I'm just being dense.

I'm not a fan of comic strips. I mean, the only ones I liked was The Far Side and Calvin and Hobbes. And both have been gone for years. As for any creator of any written word, let them speak. Say what they want. It's their right. If we like them and their view, then so be it. If not, so be that as well. We, as Americans, have that right. And as for what he "thinks" is right, I don't really care.

But then again, I'm just an overweight, conservative, educated (that I paid for), white guy that has friends of many races. So I'm a racist from birth.

I don’t know about the comments, however I always thought the Dilbert character was a lesbian.

My take…
If you are a CEO, a politician, a spokesperson for whatever, just STFU. You have the first amendment to protect you from government prosecution. You also have the right to remain silent. Use it. Don’t be a dick. Dear god, its not that complicated. Just STFU. Goes for Adams, Kanye, and anyone else with a big mouth that nobody wants to hear from. You know who really pushing that envelope? Musk! Hey Elon, just STFU, put down the shovel, quit digging.

The second guy saying they don't need help from anyone. Saying they get help from the government and need no help from white people. Where the hell do they think the governments funds come from. The government does not generate any money. They steal it and give it away. My perspective from the last 15 years at least show black people hate white people more than white people don't like black people. I was told I was racist because I don't look at black people different than white people. For some reason I am supposed to acknowledge that a person is black and they are somehow victims. My view anymore is I like my little corner of the world I keep my distance from most people. And I like when they do the same. This whole thing has gotten really out of hand. Obama has really made a mess out of this country we will feel the effects for decades. The funny part was when Obama won all I can think of was how good that would be for this country even though I did not vote for him. Boy was I wrong. It was the most divisive administration I have ever seen in my lifetime.

That's what I thought also, what a disappointment.

Sometimes when this subject comes up like it has here, or in actual conversation I feel like talkin', I got things to say but I don't. I'm so tired of this shit, they're cryin' in their beer, what I have to say won't matter, won't change anything, no use wasting words.:(
