Roger, actually it is effective tomorrow evening.WV just issued a stay at home order effective immediately.
I personally know several people that experienced the same.I know in the late fall / early winter quite a few people were very sick - but flu tests all came back negative. It would not surprise me if many of those were ill with COVID.
Yes hope so, but too early to tell what the mortality rate here will be. Many cases in the US (and Canada) still haven't had an outcome. Out of all cases, you have (at least) an additional 3% reported in serious or critical condition.
There are a lot of people dying with the virus ….not because of the virus.... I am not downplaying the numbers just saying the statistics are not accurate …..yetI read a news report yesterday that there have been a total of 3 corona virus deaths in a nursing home in my county.
I read a little further for the details. All 3 were in their 90’s and 2 of the 3 were in “comfort care” which I interpreted to be Hospice.
This is one of the reasons why some people are still skeptical.
Over 40% of those that died in Italy are 20 to 59Mortality rate will continue to decrease as it has been. The number of positive tests will drive mortality rates down below 1%.
In Italy, the average age of those who died is 80.
That has to be cases, not deaths.Over 40% of those that died in Italy are 20 to 59
No that's deaths. Here's a link that shows every country cases deaths and percents. That has to be cases, not deaths.
I looked, I don't see where it says 40% of deaths are age 20 to 59. Where is it?No that's deaths. Here's a link that shows every country cases deaths and percents.
The only country the US can compare to is Canada. Our life styles eating habits time zones mirror each other

This pie chart is Italy as of 3/22, cases. In order for it to be as you say about every case in that age group would also have to die.

Every country (aside from the US) has socialized health care including the ones that are doing quite well with the virus like South Korea. If enough people get sick at the same time, this thing will bring any health care system to its knees. Too many people got sick all at once in Italy.
