I work in Bedford Heights. pass through the Turney/Rockside area all the time.

Your boats come with salt! :p

Cleveland has changed a bit since you left - Hope you get a chance to get back for a visit.
Wife and daughter just went last week for 4 day trip, i lost interest in 6 hour trips, Dad turned 90 yesterday so I need to visit. I actually put Baltimore to Cleveland in a boating app, wouldn’t track a course. I think it was telling me are you nuts.

View attachment 105377 I am truly amazed at the size of your marinas. Your legs must ache from hauling stuff to your boats. Nothing like that on the Bay. Here’s a picture of my pier.
I’m only a few slips from the ramp.... easy to get to but on the other hand, a lot of people walk past me.

Your marina is bigger than my whole development, that’s crazy. If it weren’t for the picture I wouldn’t believe it. Never seen any thing like it.
1500 slips... the largest on Lake Michigan.

Largest on Great Lakes if I'm not mistaken. Back when I started, you had to wait for a 30 foot slip. Place was probably 90% full. During the Great Recession the place emptied out and the state ran it into the ground. Place never really recovered. Been less than 50% capacity for years. State finally leased to Westrec and they came in, made improvements, and we are probably somewhere between 60-70% capacity.

We went through Delta Yacht Sales to purchase our boat. Beautiful place and maintained very well.

I'm guessing you dealt with either Nina or Peter. They are great folks, as are all of the staff at this Marina.

Chief Ed, are you next to Humphrey’s? We are coming down for one of their concerts in August

Hi Shoyrtt,

We’re a couple marinas down from Humphreys. Back in the “good Ol’ days”, it was a short dinghy ride down to watch the shows. Can’t wait from them to start up again, August, I think.

Stay in touch, We’ll hook up for a pre-concert beverage when you make it down this way...

Ed

I'm also impressed by these huge marinas! And even more so by the covered slips. I've never seen any around here so I guess we don't have them  Are they most popular in hot areas?

We've got over 700 boats in our marina but we park behind the boat in the majority of the slips. I also don't know of any marinas locally that have covered slips.

If I ever stop nit picking every boat we see and we buy a boat ,we will be docked at either Gem Beach in Catawba , Ohio or at Cedar Point.
