268DA and Weekenders

Thanks, I kinda rubbed some of the black stripe off the Sea Ray but so far they still look ok .The SunDancer is missing on one side and pretty messed up on the other so that I will need. The stripes will be the next project they are kind of chunked out. I'm thinking of leaving some of them off for a different look but not sure which ones. I wish the PO wouldn’t have put so much bottom paint on it but I think it would be a major under taking to get it off.
Not sure what will get done this year but that is why they are projects in work right.

I got caught in a huge down pour on Sunday had my Daughter and Grand Daughter go below my son in law stayed on deck with me. I was freaking out with the huge amount of lighting there was all around, we looked like drowned rats when we docked. Any way my Daughter said the rain was pouring in from the windows so I am going to caulk them shut and see if that works, they aren't much good for getting air in any way.

How do you access the bow of the boat? Crawl through the front hatch or can you walk along both sides of the windshield? I currently have a 20' cuddy and the only thing I don't like is accessing the bow when beaching. We don't have a split windshield like the newer boats, so its up through the hatch for us. I'd like to move up to a 268 Weekender someday and was hoping the front was a little more accessible.

I have another question. Can somebody provide a rough dimension of the top seating area (cockpit) on a 268 Weekender? Something like the back of the transom seat to the dash and the interior width.

I'm trying to get a feel for the size of a 268 vs. my current boat. I know the cabin area is much larger on a 268, but we spend most of our time in the cockpit with the back to back seats reclined. Thanks.

Here are some shots with people aboard three of us stand the front there are 2 jump seats behind the helm and I took the bench seat out and replaced then with 2 king chair's you can put 3 there but then there would be a chair in the way when entering and exiting the stern. If you go for the weekender it has a different seating arrangement and you would be standing lower do to no rear berth. We have had 8 on board comfortably but with all that weight in the stern she struggles to get up on plane. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the pictures Daddubo. It helps seeing the boat in action to get an idea of the size. I'd still like to hear from somebody with the cockpit dimensions on a 268 Weekender. They are pretty rare around here, so I don't have any to check out.

Thanks.

harv it indeed is an inconvenience to access the bow with our boats...dropping achor is rough. I like the floor space we have in our little boats, but I see you got 2 foot itus

Hey fellow 268er's How many of you have a holding tank instead of the sani-potti?

Where did they place the holding tank?

and does anyone have some pics of the installation.

I would like to up date mine to a new style, but haven't much luck on what they did from the factory.

Harv72 if you don't need to trailer you might want to think about a 270 which is basicly the same boat only 10' wide with twins it would give you alot more floor space. This is one I was looking at before I bought mine.

I would think you could move the water heater further back and put the holding tank where the water heater is pretty tight though.

From the cabin door to the transom is approx 8' long. Rear cockpit interior width is approx 7' wide.

Thanks, EricW. That was the information that I was looking for. I have around 9.5' from the door to the back rest on my rear bench and around 80" side to side on my 200 cuddy cruiser.

Harv72,Most people go to Cruisers for over night comfort not deck space and they are a lot slower than a cutty. You have to decide what you are looking for, if all you are looking for is deck space maybe you should look at a deck boat or a Pontoon with an I/O.

Daddubo,

We were out on Saturday even though the Chain is No Wake. We got out about 3pm and stayed until around 9pm. The lakes were smooth as glass.

Hope you are well,
