480 DB Owners Club

Well, I did not get any replies about our electrical issue, but we did figure it out. After working the power from the poll all the way to the panel and checking the breakers, everything was good, but no power to the outlets. If some time and getting ready to tear the boat apart, I looked at a switch in a panel just to the left of our main breaker panel. There was the answer. I had a breaker for our inverter that had flipped. Because it is after the panel in the schematics, we did not think of it. Anyway I have now drawn it in so next time it will be easier to follow the flow.

Can any 48 DB owners out there help me with how to change the bulbs in the small interior headliner lights. There has to ban easy trick I am missing. Also, In the lower cabinet (below TV in my 2002) closest to sliding door, I have a a black cord plugged into the GFI outlet that runs into the wall and then forward at floor level. I cannot determine what it is powering. Any ideas?

Getting the lights out of the ceiling is not easy and sometimes painful. You have to pry down on the outer ring with your fingers or possibly a plastic tool if you're careful not to mess up the headliner. Once it starts to come out, move your fingers out of the way becasue two spring loaded clips will pop down like a mousetrap and smash them. Or if you're like me, one of the clips will break then the light won't stay in the ceiling after your replace it...

As far as the cord, sounds like a previous owner-mod. I have nothing plugged into my outlet.

+1, ^^ What he said.

I wonder if when the light is out, if it would make sense to enlarge the hole a bit?

My port gauge has started floating this season but only about 1/4 tank. Not enough to worry about yet but let us know what you find out.

Well for this summer I won't be passing any port with diesel , I cannot work on much since the surgery on right arm . Reach up , in, out, or around and twisting screws just isn't happening this year just yet.

Hi Guys/Girls - new to the site, am sure I will be getting more active now my 480 Sedan Bridge has arrived, its a 2001, I have a quick 1st question that i searched on here but did not find any answers too but does anyone know how you take the washing machine out of the boat, lifted the stairs and does not seem enough room to push back and pull out over the A/C then looked at the front and seems too high to pull forward, plus if I pull forward no way to get out of the door, The water does not drain during the cycle so believe it to be the pump so need to get out to test this.
Now I'm in Australia so no need to worry Im already upside down to most of you folks in the northern hemisphere and I can do metric to imperial conversions so lay it on me

Cheers in advance - and yes I will post some pics - its just more fun in my summer when you are mid snow and winter :)

Huddo,

This is was back in post #1434 of this thread, I copied it below.

The washer is bolted to a piece of plywood. Peel the carpet up a little bit just in front of the washer. You will see screws holding the plywood to the floor.

Then under the stairs you will see more screws holding the back of the plywood down. Remove the cabinet door in the starboard stateroom, and the latch plate. Push the washer in a tiny bit to get the carpet under the plywood, then the entire assembly can be pulled into the stateroom.

Watch the supply hoses and exhaust hose under the stairs as you pull the unit out.

Hey Greg how's it going ??? Here in Michigan it's 45 degrees this morning but it's supposed to warm up in two days !!!! Hopefully

45? Holy Crap, and I thought it was cool here.

Greg - thank you so much I will get better at the search I'm sure ;-)

The search feature doesn't work so well. If you are having problems with it draining you may want to check the filter at the lower right corner of the washer first.

Pull the panel off of the bottom of the washer. No screws, just clips. You will see a round cover that will unscrew to access the drain pump.

IMPORTANT !!!
----------------------------
If there is water in the washer, have a shop vac ready when you pull the cover off the pump.

Just loosen the cover and let the shop vac suck out the water as it leaks out. Once it's empty you can remove the cover.

If you PM me you email address I can send you the tech manual for the washer.

Does anyone's washer/dry door get locked shut even when it's turned off? It is at the end of the dry cycle and there are times it just wont open... wait a couple of hours, and it'll open right up... weird... Open to ideas.

Couldn't find them Sea Ray parts but found them on eBay bought two

Now here we are in Frankfort Mi and two other 480s are in Jacobsons with us , don't know who they are but I don't think they are on CSR. I'll try to make an intro after the storm settles down .

This might be a silly question, but I thought the under counter fridge was on the right and the unit on the left was a freezer. It seems only items in the top of the left unit freeze and the bottom items do not. Confusing.

Not sure of your setup, but on my boat the entire left unit is a refrigerator and the entire right unit is a freezer. Each one is just a single big compartment. The freezer has an ice maker in it.
