To fix it properly you are gonna wanna remove the entire frame assembly and repair. Then you can reinstall the entire unit. I bought new vertical pieces from taylormade.com. Dan

I have the same problem with my '86 300. I am planning on removing the entire window frame once the boat is in its indoor winter storage birth. Where did you get the window channel flocking?? I want to order that and a bunch of the rubber they used as a screw cover. Dan

MR43T is definately the plug i would run. They are stainless threads and body and are designed for this engine.

I will ck my strainer for sucking air. Didnt really think of that. I am also gonna put a known good pump in and see if kicks off at max. pressure.

I have a similar problem that just arose on my 300. The fresh water pump wont shut down when max pressure is achieved. I cant find any leaks any where. The pump is only a year old so I find it hard to believe its the pressure switch on the pump, but maybe. I crawled around the bildge with it...
