what is the bypass exhaust for the zeus pods and what does it bypass? how do you use it? does it work when the valve is open or closed?

Hi. I am fairly new to boating and am about to purchase a new 2013 240 sundancer with some good options. I think I'm getting a good deal on it, but I wanted to know if someone think the new 260 ; only 2 feet longer; would be a better buy and worth the price difference. Thank you for your help
