Hi there Slurpen,
I am facing the same issue on my 290 SD, 1996. I havent been very successful finding examples of someone doing this. ITs a bit of a surprise I'd say given how many sea rays there are in Sweden (where we all anchor with the bow towards the dock.. where all docks are made for...
Bucit,
Since you have a 2005 model you have a locker in the transom which makes this a lot more convenient.
However, on the 290, 1996 there is no transom locker to put the anchor in.
So, storing the anchor is one part of the "stern anchoring solution" I am looking for.
That part is probably...
Hi,
Well, I wouldn't worry to much about making decisions like that. Especially since sweden has some alcohol rules that are as strict on the sea as on the road :-)
I would probably not be mounting the actual windlass inside the engine room for the reasons mentioned. Its probably a better idea...
Hi,
I am thinking about getting a windlass for my 1996, Sea Ray Sundancer 290, DA. Since all ports where we live are made for anchoring with the bow towards the port I am trying to figure out if it is possible to mount a windlass in the stern or not.
I have a single engine and no generator so...
Well, I wish I could agree with you on that.
however, as I only owned the boat for 2 years (imported it from the states) and I only had problems with it I am not sure I trust my old more than the new (even with a new block).
The "misc" parts (generator, starter, mercatode, carburator, hoses...
Thanks for the help with this.
Yes, I do suspect that its the same engine block no matter what. Does not make sense to have different engines just to fit I/O or sterndrive.
The "new" engine is a lot newer than my old engine. I think its a 2000 but as its used you can never be sure.
The engine...
Hi,
I have a sea ray sundancer 290 - 1996.
Last year my engine, Mercruiser Bravo-II, MCM 454 7.4l gave up and I am now looking at replacing it.
I managed to find a Mercruiser MIE 454 Magnum MPI 7.4l (385 hp) that was recently renovated/serviced at a good price.
However, as I realized that...
Hi,
I have a feeling that your guessing is not far from the truth/reality.
I'll try to dissconnect the water line comming into the toilet and see if I get water to that point or not.
I do not have a foot pedal (it's just a button on the wall so the flushing mechanic is operated by electronics...
Thanks for the feedback and help! It's highly appreciated.
See further comments/feedback below.
ANDREAS: Yes, that's probably the case. 14 years (-1996) is probably way past the time for when these things are kept in stock.
Hi,
I just bought a Sea Ray 290 SD, 1996 with a 7.4l MCM454, Bravo II from Georgia and got it transported home to Sweden a couple of weeks ago.
Since I'm not able to get much advice or orientation from the former owner I'm a bit clueless to what's what on the boat and I'm hoping to get some...
