I say to each their own. Depends on what type of boating you want to do. We purchased our first boat 21 years ago as 23 and 24 year olds with only a car payment (him) and student loan (me) between us. Crazy kids with a boat before a house or even being married!! Was a 8 year old 20' Mariah cuddy...
It didn't work for us. However, we went ahead and bought the scan tool after replacing the sensor and still alarming. Hubs ran through everything and no other issues. Knock on wood, after resetting the code, we have been good to go.
Looking for some advice regarding our 2011 SeaRay Sundancer 280. At the end of the season last year, our engine began a surging like when cruising on plane, had it checked out this spring but our mechanics didn't find anything. In the water for a couple of weeks and it happens then goes into...
Unfortunately, they didn't work for us. Ordered two and the first one gave a pressure reading of 39 and never changed; the second was a 0. Purchased one from the marine dealer down the road, worked like a charm.
We purchased a leftover 2011 280 last Feb. With the bigger engine. Our last two boats had the 350 MAG. Just couldn't imagine it on a cruiser this size. It is a great boat and you will never regret the bigger engine, Good luck!
It really isn't that busy during the week, but can be very busy on the weekends. There are literally coves everywhere for fishing, tubing or just dropping anchor and chilling. We have been down there twice in the past with boats. Enjoy!
We find that only partially zipping the zippers then snapping the snaps and zipping her up works best. Canvasses are very tricky and susceptible to temps. Once you get it figured out the first time, you will be set.
Our home port is in Dubuque, Iowa and next week we start a vacation and would like to cruise south and camp on the Princeton (Iowa) Beach. We visited it many years ago coming from the south, traveling north. Is the beach still huge with great sand? Any tips/words of advice would be much...
We hadn't used our camper canvas in a few weeks, and when we went to put up Saturday it was extremely humid and was tight, tight in the back. Any advice on how to loosen it up? On our Crown line we were able to make some adjustments via the bimimi poles, but that doesn't seem to be an option on...
We purchased a brand new, leftover SeaRay 280 Sun dancer in Feb. Took possession in April and in late May was finally able to take it out on the water. We used the generator two times. It has just over two hours on it. When we started it last Saturday, city ran for 30 seconds and then stopped...
We have the same problem. Out with our brand new boat (it is a 2011, it was a leftover we purchased over the winter) for the first run of its life and the alarm went off regarding this fail. According to other forums, Mercury doesn't know how to fix it just yet...we'll learn to live with that...
