You may have had cavitation on one engine which would produce this warning....meaning one engine gained RPMs for an unexplained reason. IMO I wouldn't be concerned unless it occurs again....
IMO I would Disconnect the junction box connection in the engine room. Then spool the cable out flat. Based on the age, you may be well advised to replaced the entire cable because with 240 Volts, ANY abrasions inside the cable bundle is a very real fire hazard especially if this problem has...
Great LakeS Skipper had a new platform available at dealer cost about 3 weeks ago on their site. Believe it was for a 44 DA. Probably is the same for a 44DB

SO MUCH of the content here is very old. Why can't this old stuff be archived and replaced with fresh content. You would probably get subscribers that would pay for new, more current data.

I have found that after a few seasons of winter to summer, on both Sea Rays (480 DA, 47 DB) we have owned these fitting all leaked. It may be the shrinkage due to tempature variations but after several discussions with Sea Ray CSR led me to replace every end connector with standard PVC piece...
