They are probably dry-joint exhaust. Can you take a picture of your manifolds and risers and post it here?

Small tip -- it is easier to remove and re-install the water pump if you remove the hoses from the sea strainer, then pull the water pump off, then remove the raw water hose from the pump. The engine hoses are softer, so they are easy enough the put back onto the pump after re-install, but the...
