I agree with all posters! I always turn the ignition back to the left. Even with a new battery I was always too afraid to run the radio for very long. A 2nd battery is always my first mod.

I haven't measured mine, but they are closer to 4 ft than 2 ft. Better to have them a bit long and adjust them down than too short. When my boat is off the trailer, my straps are long enough that I can put the boat hooks together in the middle, and they still span the width of the trailer.
