Out of curiosity, can those with a 2003 - 2007 270 SUNDECK with the 6.2L or a 383 Stroker post their WOT top speed? I can only get to 41 - 42MPH max under ideal conditions @ just over 5000RPMs.

Just something easy to check.... did you actually look at the fuel tank to make sure there really is gas in it? It should be translucent, allowing you to see the level of fuel in the tank. Sometimes the fuel gauge goes bad and it gives a wrong reading.

Damn...I knew I should have held out for a 496! Those numbers are much better than mine. You cruise at lower RPMs, at a faster speed, burning less fuel.

I don't have any of those engines you listed... but, I have a 270 SUNDECK with a 6.2 L 383 Stroker rated at 325 H.P. at the prop (the 6.2 is a replacement for the 7.4). So that you can make a comparision, my SD will do about 42 MPH at WOT. At it's most economical cruising speed (approx. 26 -27...

I believe that even though the 383cc engine is technically smaller than the 454cc engine, the Stroker has a little more H.P. and comparable torque. It is also less weight making it a suitable replacement.
