I did the jr marine repair on my port side and replaced steering pin with stainless pin two bushings and a seal wasn’t hard at all to do a couple of 100 bucks, I did over the summer find a excellent used outer transom assembly and I am replacing the repaired one as well as replacing starboard...
I do know I can feel better control around dock with the four blades. Tonight, I drove the boat with three people it comes up with ease even better when using tabs. I’m very satisfied with the results I pulled her out to mount transducer in a different location. I’m figuring this boat hasn’t...
Update I removed garmin transducer near port drive previous owner installed
Put 4 blade Michigan Apollo 14 5/8x16 on. It now gets on plane with ease. These are my numbers no tabs 3600 rpm 29 mph I can run down close to 3000 and stay on plane
Top speed is 42 mph at 5050 it will bounce rev...
I just removed my furuno transducer from transom and now looking at moving my garmin transducer which according to garmin is installed where it can cause cavitation/ventilation
I’m having same issues with the stock vengeance props boat takes a country mile to plane. I’ve tried everything previous mentioned drives in tabs up tabs down. It cavitates or ventilates horrible barely gets on plane anything below 33-3400 she wants to come off plane. The hull is bottom...
Yes it was surveyed twice surveys leave a lot to be desired. I always thought searay as a top brand but that has now changed lift your the cushions in aft cabin plywood, plywood in the engine compartment plastic ties instead of the rubber coated stainless steel clips unsupported wiring.
So I’m neck deep in this 04 280 da.
First searay I’ve owned and the last I’ve owned boats since I’ve been a kid and I’m 55 and this one is by far some of the worst build quality more wood in this boat than the mayflower. Unsupported wiring every place you look no metal clips all plastic ties...
Every boat I have had the tilt trim would work with battery switches off as well as bilge pumps
There are two battery switches the one closest to rear of boat says 1, both 2 off
It was on both
The switch towards the front side I think says off and on
The one switch was in the both position...
New to me 04 280 yesterday went to tilt up drives battery switch was off port drive operated fine
Starboard side clicks, no power to trim pump battery switch in both position
Turned the other battery switch to on and now I have power is this normal set up?
That’s what I am doing already put three new batteries in it I have changed all the trim cylinder hoses installing new trim tab planes this weekend. I’m pulling my starboard drive Saturday morning as well as changing all the fluids belts etc. it will be better than new when I’m finished
That is correct, nobody ran the boat until I picked it up and I had them start it they were not having any of it when I kept questioning about sea trial. They knew I was coming two weeks in advance and still made us wait 7 hours for them to load the trailer. Then I asked where everybody was...
No sea trial
No idea it has all new cables from drive to motor, bellows, gimbal bearings,
I was told it was time to replace, the boat looks new I’m guessing it just sat in water and the previous owner got taken for a ride by people
