Great info with that Broward Armature. Our Quicksilver Gen in 87 340 Express runs and starts and puts out no voltage. I haven't contacted them yet. Curious if they can actually repair the electrical portion of a Quicksilver Gen as we have been told no parts are available and we should scrap it...
Will, funny my name is William and I was born in 1955..hmm. I have twin 1987 5.7 mercruisers and these engines do have flat tappet cams as stated above. You did "luck out" as the 15w-50 Mobil 1 is one of only 3 of the Mobil 1 variations that have the correct level of ZDDP for our engines...
I just removed the seats from 1987 340 Express to winterize the engines and change oil. Each seat has 3 wing nuts to remove, then lift the seats up and over. Great access in this engine room / bilge.
