I have 5 of these Nason low pressure switches (2 port and 3 starboard) on my DD 6V92 625hp motors. They are tied into the fuel lines above the secondary fuel filter. Here is my problem. A mechanic was working on the boat and concluded that the switches were bad and needed replacing. He...
Looking for a Detroit Diesel mechanic recommendation for East Central Florida (Melbourne, Cocoa Beach, etc). Need more than a routine maintenance guy. Thank you in advance.

I looked at the 44 and 45 EBs before I picked up my SB last year. Love the layout. The 45 has a bit bigger beam and the layout is more modern with a change in the stateroom set up. The 44 is a bit narrow to traverse along the sides. Making spring lines a bit of a balancing act. Love the...
Great video. I'd love to see more. Nice to see a boat similar to mine taking one over the bow and chug along nicely. Sea Rays can handle bigger seas when they need to. Most owners simply choose the safest days to venture out.
Here's the quick history. I own a '98 550DB with DD 6V92 625hp motors with 1750hrs. I've owned the boat for less than a year and I don't have much of a history. The survey (from a reliable Detroit guy) came back great. Last week, I was running for about 2.5hours at 1750rpms at 170 temp...
All due respect to my friends from the North but, I couldn't imagine having a completely enclosed bridge (even though I've never owned one). I've been on one and it just didn't seem like I was boating. I love the wind and sun. I live in Florida as well. We boat all year long. In my...
Come on by. Satellite Beach. Grand Canal. My dock is full of boats. I have a bit of a boating problem. :-) Fender up to Double Trouble. I'll have some boating "sodas" ready for you.
Just so you know, she is not for sale. We just got her in July and plan to keep her for a...
My fuel Cross Over Board has a fuel return valve (off/on/return) below the Generator fuel valve. Is this valve only for the Generator? If yes, shouldn't there be a pair of valves for the motors? If no valve is needed for the motors, why is there one specifically for the generator?
ttmott,
I see that you are in my neighborhood, The Space Coast. You are looking at newer boat than mine but, I you want to see a '98 550DB give me a call. I love mine and I'm sure you will find that perfect boat. Good luck.
I feel your pain. I just installed 6 group 31 Interstate AGMs. At a cost of almost $300 per, I'm still feeling the pain. Not to mention, I now have to replace two 4Ds. Ouch. I'm banking on the fact that I won't have to replace them again anytime soon. My mechanic has the Interstate...
