hi Rob,
Out of curiosity, did you go this route because the Gen I steering actuators are impossible to get? I have a starboard actuator failing, causing my steering to misbehave, and we can’t find the part.
thanks!
Curt
Great feedback - thanks! We love being out on Lake Michigan in the summer, largely because of the destinations! My wife's family has a place in Montauk, so they're encouraging us to end up on the south shore, though my wife loved Marblehead when we visited a few weeks ago...
Most likely is...
I appreciate the input - I am mostly concerned with the saltwater wreaking havoc... not sure if our boating style would significantly change at this stage...
By the way, we're leaving the river and heading out to DuSable for the season tomorrow! We have a 9 month old, so passing the lock 100x...
Hi all!
Curious if your opinion - my wife and I live in chicago (hi stg!) and are relocating at end of summer to Boston (Marblehead, more specifically).
I can’t decide if our ‘08 350 DA (150hrs, sterndrive) should come along or be sold as a “freshwater only” boat, buying something with...
It totally solved it - turning 4,500 RPMs, flies out of the hole... Now to solve the Kohler generator... but have no fear, Dan has it on his list of 'to-dos' this summer.
10 years later.... they still answer and say "Yep, heating element. Give me your email address." - although now they charge you $75 for the part.... "Oh the times, they are a changin..."
Finally got Dan out to the boat this AM, and I feel ridiculous for not checking the filters. Dan said he’s never seen anything like this - bacteria build up in a gas engine fuel filter. Heading to St Joe, hoping this clears the issue!
Ah funny! You should go up to Metropolitan Brewing. Next time we can arrange a slip swap! We occasionally snag a transient slip on the lake on busy weekends or when there's a concert at Wrigley or Soldier field we are attending. I'll leave the CYW folks a message tonight. I've stored with...
Funny coincidence, i totally agree. I left Dan a voicemail on my way to O'Hare today. Haven't heard back yet, assuming he's very busy this time of year...
I am actually on the river! East branch of Goose Island, behind the Montgomery Ward (or as people call it now 'Groupon') building.
Hi all,
Bought our '08 350 DA with 80 original hours this fall - finally in the water now, and i'm miffed by the RPMs we're achieving...
Assuming most (or some) of you have the 496s with Bravo 3s - what's been your experience in achieving factory stated RPM range? Struggling to get the boat...
Thanks - Marina is going through the boat this week to get it in a condition they think is acceptable, so we'll see. Raised impellers to the service manager (who has maintained it since new), he agreed, but said he knows they were replaced in '14 before it hit dry dock. Appreciate the feedback.
Thanks!! This one has been in storage for ~5 years (though well cared for it appears in the process), but the out of water survey went great. We'll see what happens as they try to prep it for launch - engines and generators have less than 100 hours.
Anyone have advice on things to watch...
Thanks - we decided to walk away, but found another! Has stern drives with Axius (so it may have a different feel than yours with v-drives), wish us luck!
