once again its time to winterize my favorite hobby and once again i'm struggling to get all the dirt,etc. out of the system! I rigged up a hose to flush it out which works but the amount of dirt etc that comes out is amazing. has anyone installed an external strainer on the bottom of the boat...

went to get my last pump out before pulling my 370 Sun Dancer and the holding tank just about collapsed. Replaced filter for $$$ and still didn't let air into tank. put vacuum on either end of filter and found that it wasn't the filter but from end of filter to the "outside vent " on boat?? not...

just a follow up. mechanic did total tune up . When I first put it in gear , it still made noise. but as I moved the boat around in the slip, the noise completely went away?? Still going to have him replace the transmission fluid and fluid filter, but guess I get to keep my $10,000 it would...

had engine tuned up, plugs, wires, distributor, still makes loud noise, but engine does run better and idles at lower rpms . next he will remove transmission filter to replace and look for pieces.

he also said there's a transmission fluid filter that may be causing the problem. I told him to do it all. both engines. Dont want to be caught out in the bay... Boat tow may not want to come close enough to tow now due to Covit-19 and mandatory distancing ..

Have mechanic checking it out next week. will do tune up regardless as has been several years. He also says could also be not enough transmission oil pressure. so I guess there's a transmission oil pressure pump?

launched my 370 Searay Sundancer on Saturday and had a loud noise coming from the transmission at low idle/rpms then as I get underway, the noise goes a way. hope it just needs a tune up not transmission work. Checked fluid and was full.

thank God for skinny mechanics, ha! reason 4,389 why I could never be a boat mechanic!

had purchased a hatch and was prepared to cut a hole in the deck , but today a mechanic from Seven Seas, wiggled himself into the anchor hatch and with someone on the out side holding the screw, was able to get the light off the boat.. unbelievable. would have been a wild UTube video for sure...

the same area as where the anchor hatch is on the starboard side

i like the ideal of the Deck Plate! biggest one I've found has inner access of 8 in and would prefer 12 inches
