A lot has happened in the last seven years I've done a lot of thinking and change a few things.
Went from wanting to install rebuilt 350s and building a swim platform with a transom door to building a transom bracket for outboards and possibly a transom door.
I purchased a 1979 Searay 300 SRV Project boat needing a re power.
Before I make this investment I'd like to make sure this type of boat and hull is suitable for offshore fishing and trolling between 20 and 80 miles.
Also it's handle ability in les than fair sea conditions.
I would certainly...
My 2 pumps are located the same as yours.
The foam boxes run from Stearn to berth.
When I removed all the foam and boxes do I need to rebuild the boxes solid?
These boxes support all the tanks, head/shower seating, and galley cabinets.
I am entertaining the idea of making just a shelf with ss...
Also need to mention the flotation boxes I want to remove are/were filled with water.

When taping every square inch with a small hammer it all had a solid sound except one spot were were I suspect wood rot.
Hello,
I have been rebuilding a 1979 srv 300 in the past year
and have a few question.
Shouldn't their be a bilge pump of some sort in the cabin?
And how would I go about building one if possible?
Their doesn't seem to be much room.
Also if I removed the glassed in flotation boxes filled...
I am geting ready to re-power my 30, fishing boat
and would like to trade up my gas guzzlers for
twin electric motors ran by a generator in theory.
I know it has been done on sail boats, however I need enough power to get my 30' SeaRay with a fly bridge on plane.
Am I asking for to much?
Im...
Thats another concern. I'm not sure if the molding swim platform wouldn't take away from the traditional look of the boat. Before I make a decision on that I need for someone to put this idea in AutoCAD.
I think that post was me in a different category.lol
I have called 2 fiberglass shops and a boat builder so Hopefully I have a good
grasp on doing it properly. I will post pics as I start the process.
