Double checking winterizing Merc 5.7 Bluewater v-drives....

Searched pretty far back in this forum and YouTube, I see lots of info on raw water cooled engines, with I/O's....but not so much on the half closed systems like I believe mine is. This winter I'm tackling it myself, always had the yard do it in prior years, but they doubled in cost this...

    Anyone ever use Injectadeck?

Curious if you took pics you could post? How far apart where your holes for it? How did you handle the "cosmetics" afterwards? We have a small area (approx 2'x3') that I'm guessing got wet from the grab rail down the center of the foredeck (sides of where the sun pad would be). When we got...

Where is windlass "breaker" located on a late 90's Dancer 300?

So no luck finding a device that looked like the above picture. Below is a pic of the solenoid that I do hear click....and the 2x blade fuses on it are good. Second pic is what I'll call a breaker box...behind storage pocket along starboard side of aft lounge seats. The red button for the...

    Duck bill replacement

Quite the right of passage....did mine early this summer. Had a weird issue with bellows, redid them again....and yet a 3rd time when it still wasn't perfect. Yeah by the 3rd time I wasn't even wearing gloves.

Where is windlass "breaker" located on a late 90's Dancer 300?

I've searched various threads here at CSR, and HT, and around Google..and cannot find the answer. This season our windlass does not raise or lower. No sounds from foot switches at the bow. When I hit the windlass power switch at the helm, I hear a clicking sound behind me. Looked around and...

Raw water pump....started leaking..steady little stream..."how long til she totally fails?"

Replaced Friday, didn't take a chance, new Mercruiser one...MSRP $570....just what I needed after all the money last month on the reman long block replacement. 5 years ago when we bought this boat I had the yard put in new raw water pumps in both engines, and every other year, replaced the...

Raw water pump....started leaking..steady little stream..."how long til she totally fails?"

Probably an impossible question to answer. Pump itself 4 years old (both engines). New impellors this spring by the yard. Replaced engine with a long block over the summer. During my 20 hour "break in" runs, noticed on the first day, bilge has water. Doesn't get deep, maybe 1/4 inch, since...

Think starboard engine blew this weekend.....

Found out my water leak is from the seawater pump....ugh. Not a horrible thing, but don't feel like that kinda $ right now, want to start paying off the engine replacement stuff.

3100 doing ~24 knots for sure your props have more pitch than mine...pretty sure mine are stock diam/pitch. At ~3100 I'm 'tween 20-21 knots.

Think starboard engine blew this weekend.....

Yes....can put in idle or even put on a few hundge RPM and watch. This weekend will idle and just put the rev's up and look.

Think starboard engine blew this weekend.....

The blue drain plugs at the bottom of each exhaust manifold? I wondered about that...but then, I figured they'd be pouring out "right away"....even at idle. I don't see a thing at idle. Or...do they only get pressure behind them and would shoot out water if engines are say, spinning above 3k...

Think starboard engine blew this weekend.....

Wow that's nice, and extra 40hp x 2.... Different props? New dripless shaft seals about 2 years ago...but worth checking again....

Think starboard engine blew this weekend.....

Yes...they pulled the tranny/motor out combined...separated them in the shop. The "boom lift" for our marina was out of commision all summer, thus they had to haul my boat and bring it into the big boat shed workshop so the overhead left could pull 'em. I see in your details...300hp MPI...

Think starboard engine blew this weekend.....

Been a very long summer. Supply of "long blocks" was scarce...so I stuck with Michigan Motorz...and eventually one was delivered. I'm very thankful that our marina was tolerant of "end user/owner" wanting to do much of the work. I had removed most of the parts of my old engine...wiring...
