Finally, some nice weather on Cape Cod. I took delivery of my new 2018 SPX yesterday. I love it, and took it out on Nantucket Sound for the first time. Came back, hated to leave her at the dock. Went back just to look at her one more time, and yes, after 2 hours of ownership, found that some bozo planted a fishing lure in the sunpad. Hoping for some advice:
1) How, or even should i worry about, do I repair a pin sized hole in the sunpad?
2) The flip-up bolster on the captain's chair seems to be stuck in the "up" position. I know yesterday, i was able to easily push it down, and then back up, but today, i can't move it back down. Looked on-line and in owner's book, but found nothing. Thanks for any advice!!

The bolster purposefully 'sticks' in the up position (has a heavy 'detent') so it doesn't flop right down when you sit on it. Just push it harder. Try 'quick-n-hard'. Yesterday, you were likely able to push it down easily because you never 'locked' it in the up position.

VLP makes a clear vinyl glue. It works great for repairs like this. Dab a small amount on to keep the hole from getting bigger.

Any chance there are cameras near by? That stinks.

Matt,
Tha5 is a great boat, we love ours. Handles a lot of people with plenty of seating. The 150 gives it plenty of power for water sports as well. As stated above, the bolster should come down with a little bit of force. Mine works the same way. Where on the cape do you boat? We keep the 520DB in Falmouth harbor and keep the 19spx on the trailer at the house so we can use it during the week and take it to different ponds and lakes to go skiing and tubing.

Lazy Daze and Jeremy, thanks for the info.
Jeremy, I am on the Bass River in Dennis...about a 10 minute ride out to Nantucket Sound. I had her out on the Sound on Tuesday for my "orientation". A BIG change in comfort from my little 13 foot Whaler! Thanks again.

That’s a great spot. Enjoy the boat. We are heading to Saquatucket Harbor in Harwich on Friday for the long weekend. They just remodeled the marina and the docks looks nice. It would be a good place for you to run to grab lunch/dinner at Brax Landing.

Ah, i grew up on Saquatucket Harbor, and go to Brax often. If you happen to be out in Dennisport on Saturday night, I'll be playing in a classic rock band at a little tavern called Etzy's. I play guitar. Stop in and say "hello". Enjoy your time in Harwich, and thanks again!!
